Hillary was on CNN explaining how she was paid $675,000 for three speeches from Wall Street corporations and her explanation why they paid so much. "Well, that's what they paid." www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/clinton-defends-wall-street-speaking-fees-%E2%80%98that%E2%80%99s-what-they-offered%E2%80%99/ar-BBp6s5H?li=BBnb7KzI love the last paragraph of the article where she states she has small donors: “They’re not giving me very much money now, I can tell you that much,” she said. “Fine with me.” Earlier in the night, Sanders said a super-PAC supporting Clinton for president had taken in $15 million so far from Wall Street donors. Clinton claimed Wednesday night that 90 percent of the donors to her actual campaign were “small dollar donors.” Yep, that is correct. they all weigh less than 200 lbs, so they are small donors!

It could be true that 90% of the donors are small donors, but that doesn't necessarily mean that 90% of the money comes from small donors

If she is elected she will have to start giving the big donors what they bought.

Yes she will. As do all the rest of them. Probably very similar to Trump's recent fundraising. 7 people donated $5.6 million and the rest was made up by smaller donors.

I wonder if I ask the big banks to let me speak at their next big conference if they would offer me a $200,000 - $300,000 speaking fee because 'that's what they offer' to speakers?
If that's the case, I'll quit my measly job and start my own 'Speaker for bank conferences' business. I didn't know they were so loose with their money.
Hillary is scrambling to try to be 'progressive' because Sanders is smoking her by exposing her cozy Wall Street symbiotic relationships. The debate tonight should be interesting. Hillary is no more geared to the middle class than Romney was or Trump is.

My husband (A Democrat) has always talked about how much Clinton maid for speaking fees after his Presidency ended. I don't like it, but I do believe they all do the same thing, so it is what it is. They all do it: www.neontommy.com/news/2013/11/price-political-speakers
This is one reason why I think a Sanders Presidency would not be all bad. I do think it would result in some current shady practices being outlawed. I don't like any of the front running Republicans. I like Rubio the best of the frontrunners, but I still would not vote for him.
G.W. Bush was making 100,000-150,000 in 2013, if he was currently running for office, you can bet he would command a similar speaking fee.
I think this speaks more to the fact that Corporations should not be considered People and be able to donate unlimited $$ to presidential candidates - and possibly we should outlaw/limit the amounts people who formerly held elected office can make as speaking fees b/c right now, as soon as they leave office they can make any amount in speaking fees and not have to worry about being charged with bribery or any other corruption charges, but the possibility exists.

"The Campaign" is a great comedy and when you think about it really hits home to how our politicians are bought and sold on both sides of the aisle. Does anyone really think Wall Street is giving something without expecting a return on their investment?
