I live in rural southern Indiana. I know it would come up here, they would see his other name and a name
change, when you were in college?? In some of the bigger cities I don't think it will be an issue, but out here
in rural Americana I do. We lived in the Houston area for 35 years so our ideas and attitudes have changed,
we are accepting of a lot we were not when we were younger and if we had stayed here. My husband is even
more worldly as he has literally worked all over the world. He will tell you now that people like yourself cannot
help it and cannot change, and its not a learned behavior, there is no acceptance in some of those countries
so you are very fortunate to be living in the US. Believe me we have both changed our ideas a lot, for the record
we will be 70 this year.
I just hope you are happy, hope you have a good life, and hope a school system appreciates the fine person
you sound to be.
We have another man that was on here a long time that is gay, he suffered from alcoholism and issues also,
he has finally resolved his issues and he and his partner are quite happy.
I think it will work out for you, people attitudes are different and people are more accepting of everyone then
they used to be.
Take care and welcome aboard, we need someone new to "harass" for awhile, don't take any of it personally!!
