Tell me what is going on with the 1099s.
My book keeper is now asking for 1099 on business that I have dealt with for some time, never had to chase down before.
An example is a welding company, my land lord on the industrial building that I have rented for a couple of years never needed before,
If I really need to do this, where does it stop does this mean that I will have to send 1099s to my bank, how about Graingers, the nut and bolt that I have dealt with for thirty years.
I really don't have time to for an example chase down my landlord get his SS# or His EIN number. he is a corp.
or is my bookkeeper going to far?

If you paid more than $600 you need to issue a 1099.

Here is when you are not required to issue a 1099. No, you don't send one to Exxon because they are incorporated.
Not Required to File Information Returns
You are not required to file information return(s) if any of the following situations apply:
You are not engaged in a trade or business. You are engaged in a trade or business and the payment was made to another business that is incorporated, or the sum of all payments made to the person or unincorporated business is less than $600 in one tax year (unless the recipient is an attorney or law form, see specific instructions for 1099-MISC for further details).

Did it help you? I work for a small church and I think we issued 5 1099's this year. About average for this church. They go to me, the regular pianist, a substitute pianist, the cleaning lady and supply pastors as we did not have a regular pastor until August.
