I think Archie is closest. I always suspected he is really a woman.

Don't I seem like a middle child. Always seeking attention. It's the younger kid that's always seeking attention. The middle child everyone ignores.

Don't I seem like a middle child. Always seeking attention. Birth order and attention-seeking behavior are unrelated. I know a couple of textbook attention whores who are first born or only children.

As kids, we siblings, living in Springfield, used to threaten each other by stating if they weren't good, mom and dad would send them to the Northampton State Hospital for the Insane.

I grew up in Enfield, CT. My mom worked in Hartford but my dad worked in Springfield. For the life of me though I can't remember a Northampton.

I didn't know so many of you were New Englanders! I grew up in Ct, mostly East Hartford, but lived in Enfield for a short time. Ended up in Newington before moving to VA.
DS used to live in East Longmeadow and I went to Springfield often. Visited a friend's cottage at Wingersheek (sp?) Beach a couple times a year. Good times and lots of memories.

Chicopee girl myself. Northampton is a hippie town, fun to visit when I visit the folks.
And yes, my grandmother used to tell my mom she was driving her to Northampton, because the state mental facility was there.

Okay I remember Holyoke and Smith college. I don't think we went there often if at all. My Dad worked in Springfield but for the most part the rest of us stayed in Ct. We also went to the beach. Our favs were Hammonesset, Rocky Neck, and the other I can't remember right now. There weren't as many back then though. Most were locked by private property. We also used to go the the Cape in Mass in the summers. Serious middle class summer fun in the 70's for us.

I know nothing about the Northhampton area, but I do know that the woman in the article is a judgmental beyotch. She's praised for her perception and abilities This has to be a joke. Instead of being critical and judge-y maybe SHE should be on food stamps or a limited income for a while.

Just over the Connecticut line along the shore, east of Mystic. Misquamicut is where most Springfield teenagers went to during the summer months and they probably still do today.
