I've got a Skype interview with someone at a temp/placement agency in about 20 minutes. It's not for anything specific, so it's hard to get motivated for it. I did curl my hair, though, for the first time in a couple years. It seems to look frizzier on camera than IRL.

Good luck lizard. It may end up being nothing but then I have had a few agencies call me out of the blue b/c they still have my resume on file. I've been working on my attitude about my job. It's not going to make me happy like my last job did but I can work at not being so miserable. Also helps Abby slept thru the night and my hormones seem to be taking a hiatus for the moment. It's good b/c now I can try to determine how how much of this is crap related to my body. I've also been wondering how much if it is I've been running non-stop since January when I found out I was losing my job. Then I lost it and was adjusting to that. Then what felt like five minutes later I had a new job and have been trying to adjust to that. That's A LOT of change in a short period of time for someone who hates change. I've been really busy this week which helps, the more work I have the less time I have to sit around staring at the walls. I decided to focus on things outside of work that I can look forward to, even if it's just counting down till the weekend/pay day. I am getting into a routine and that helps. I've set boundaries as best I can which helps. Still not being allowed to get my own animals but decided to let it go for the time being, if that's how they want to use their time that's their business. I am going to control what i can control and let go of what I can't (or at least attempt to). The isolation is still rough and I'd kill to have a window. But at least I am not wanting to scream every day anymore.

I've officially had it with this commute. I wanted to stick this job out until I decided to do school FT but I just can't. Home and DS's school are too far away with the traffic. Today it took me 1.5 hours to get to work... 20 miles away! And DS is having issues in school and we need to drop him off later/pick him up earlier. With my commute that makes it EXTREMELY difficult. I started driving home at 4:45... It's now almost 5:30 and I'm not even halfway there. And it kills me that DS will have to wait til nearly 6 for me to get him and he's been there since 7:30. I have always hated the commute, but with the added issues with making sure I can get to DS's school in a timely fashion it's now too much. So I'm looking for something closer as of today. Already found a few postings for a similar corporation that's only about 15-30 mins away (14 miles in the opposite direction of most of the traffic).

So the temp agency rep is pushy and wants everything right now. I don't think I even talked to her until yesterday morning, had that interview yesterday afternoon. Now she wants supervisor references and assessments done today. Never mind the fact I might have other things going on that don't revolve around her. Ugh.

If she gets you placed quickly that means she gets her sign on bonus faster. That's why she wants everything now, it's in HER best interest to get you interviewing and assigned a position ASAP.
If you don't have the time tell her to go pound sand. Odds are pretty good she doesn't have a position for you yet, she's on a fishing expedition right now.

Applied for two supply chain positions with said corporation. They have a couple more openings so I'll keep browsing. I'd love to get a job there because they are basically the fragrance/toiletries equivalent to my current company.

I'm a bit taken aback because they got my resume months ago, and all of a sudden it's bam, bam, bam. Umm, hello? Where've you been? Anyway, I probably need a little push because I'm not feeling very enthusiastic about this at all. I did contact 2 former supervisors, who were very supportive. So that's a plus. @mj2.0. Good luck! Would you scrap your going back to school plans if you found the right job?

I am FINALLY being included in the loop. We are going to be switching our anathesia cocktail so we aren't bumping off mice every five seconds. Apparently thresholds have been too noisy as well. So they are going to mix up a new cocktail that is less concentrated and adds in a third drug as well. The new cocktail shouldn't be as tempermental and ideally not have to use as much during experiments. Wish they would have told me this sooner, but better late than never I guess. Communication with their techs isn't these people's strong point that's for sure. I was also told I am doing an excellent job which was nice to hear b/c as you all know I've been incredibly frustrated and pissed off lately. It's nice to hear some positive feedback every once and awhile rather than listening to the voices in my head who aren't exactly on my side 99% of the time.

I was so mad today that I almost went to our main office and quit my job today. I am really tired of being micro managed and not given consideration. I was looking to move to a different office and was told that I could and today was told that I can't. You're constantly threatened with your job. I have a few sales I made that I didn't get paid for. And I'm driving way out to the sticks to do this job I hate. I'm done.
I'm trying to think about what to do next. I am tired of doing what I'm doing. I want to do something that makes a difference. Something that helps people. I'm very involved with the Hispanic community here. I think I'm going to go to some people that are pretty well known in this community and see if there are any ideas. If anyone thinks of anywhere I should look, bring it on.

I'm tempted to take Calculus again just to prove that I can. Plus, I did all right, but didn't feel like I really got it the first time around.

It seems like they're desperate for people. A few different companies were all over me for a while after my resume went up on Monster. My DH had the same thing. Pretty ballsy of them to threaten all the time, IMO. Are there any Hispanic advocacy groups around? Seems like they would have jobs...may not pay the greatest, but probably pretty rewarding.

The company I work for has a very nice set of benefits and perks that other companies don't offer. Maybe this is why they feel justified in treating their employees the way they do. I can sell for any insurance company and have already been offered contracts with two that stalked me on LinkedIn. I just feel like I could be doing more. Yes there are hispanic advocacy groups. I am going to talk to a few people and see what is out there. It doesn't hurt to ask. I hate the idea of leaving my customers though. I have built relationships with all of them. But I have to be happy too.

I put in 2 more applications this morning. Last night I freshened up my LinkedIn profile and last week I gave my resume a once-over. What sucks is that so many positions I'm looking to apply to want you to know SAP and my company doesn't use that.

Not sure if they have the detail needed but there seem to be a large number of SAP training videos on youtube for free.

It was a similar situation where the working conditions at the company were terrible, but the pay was pretty good. I still haven't figured out what to do next, but I am much happier than I was before. Good luck, and put yourself first.

A Clinical Research Associate I position popped up on UNMC's web site today and I am 99% sure it's the same department I interviewed with back in Feburary, may even be the same position for all I know. Debating if I should try again or not.

You should definitely apply for it. Just because you weren't the right person for the job back in February doesn't mean that you aren't the right person now. Go for it!

Hey all,
So I am kind of job hunting. I have a job which I like but really want to move into a certain area. I am being called back for a second interview for a position I interviewed for a little over a week ago, so I'm kind of excited. When they called me they said they really liked me, and was pretty sure I screwed up the interview because some of the questions really touched on areas that I feel strongly about and I was not able to keep all of my emotions out of it. Also I'm waiting for the state to finish updating my licences to reflect the new endorsement I qualify for that I need for this area.

Is this the one where they decided after the receptionist interviewed that they needed people skills?
