So a little over 1 month afterwards, 2 phone calls and 1 complaint to the department of labor I am finally in possession of my bonus check from my former employer. All is good! Did they give it all to you, or did they try taking some out?

Wanna bet it hurt them emotionally to give it to you? Companies like to hold as many checks back as possible, so they can put it back into the bonus pool for their homeboys to split up.

I bet, and they tried to lie to not give it to me stating I was let go before they cut the check... And they had a special committee review if I was eligible for it or not. They probably wasted more money fighting to not give me the check then the actual check is worth.

Well, just go get them, that's what I've been doing this past week. One more trip and today the destination is Hobby Lobby.
BTW, did I mention my gold YM card has been suspended due to the amount of money I spent on a handbag last Saturday? At the rate I'm going I may never get that card back.

Quit talking about shoes! I'm trying to forget I need new Timberland-esque boots and some good and cute walking/weekend shoes.

Plus if they are genuine leather, you can boil them up into soup when you run out of Fancy Feast in retirement!

Carl, those are worthy goals but get out of cc debt first or at least pay off one card if possible and put the rest in retirement.

If you're forced to give each woman a hundred bucks and tell them that's their "bonus."

I seriously like the idea of sending the link to her mother and then paying off at least one card then hiding it so it can't be used to buy crap.

If the 401k returns are greater than the cc interest, then it makes sense to keep maxing. But if they aren't, you should pay down the cc.

Like that sentence isn't gonna come back to haunt you... It wouldn't be the first time! Since I am the one that is going to live with the consequences; I need to be comfortable with the decisions.
