Anyone remember the day CBS was the FAR leftwing of the media empire?
No, because they never were.

I don't believe your examples would constitute part of "the media empire"
The point I'm trying to make is that a person can have an opinion without linking to some article in a commie news source as proof.

Please provide proof of any commie news source that has been linked. TYIA.
In the meantime, CBS has never been FAR left except to an extremist fringe on the right that thinks there are commie's everywhere.

You've illustrated my point brilliantly. Someone has an opinion that differs from yours, and you start with the proof garbage.
Do you not have any logical arguments to support your beliefs?
If I told you the sky was blue, why couldn't you look out the window to confirm or disprove that without asking for proof?

My post responses are simply my opinions, Greg. I don't seek permission from you on how to design them so you can understand that.
The opinion that CBS was ever a FAR left media outlet is completely ludicrous.

The opinion that CBS was ever a FAR left media outlet is completely ludicrous. I respect your opinions as well as others, even if I don't always agree with them. I do wish you'd reconsider asking for proof with nearly every post.

Here is the proof that CBS was FAR left wing with Comrade Cronkite:

I know Bills posted a statement by Cronkite, but the man in the sixties and seventies was off the wall leftwing.

Yes, he was the first to publicly come out against policy, but then, he was supposed to report the news, not make it. The 1968 Democratic Presidential convention in Chicago was the actual turning point for him and CBS.

Coverage of the police riots in Chicago was another great opportunity for those on the right to freak out.

It was the Democrats across the country that were freaking out.

Of course I was around back then and quite eligible for the Vietnam draft. The fascists didn't get me. CBS as FAR left...love the caps...what a laugher that is.

What's the deal with wanting only softball questions. They think a President isn't going to get hard questions?
Personally I think we'd all be better served if Rachel Maddow and John Stewart were asking the questions of the Republican candidates. And I'd be just fine watching Bill O'Reilly etal asking questions of the Dems. That'd be a lot more interesting.
What a bunch of whinning pussies!

Had nothing to do with softball questions had to do with making them personally look bad, and asking questions to one candidate, of other candidates on the stage, rather then discussing issues. Very similar to the first debate on Fox when the moderators were the instigators of bickering.

During the Vietnam War period the FAR left in America was best represented by the Weathermen/Weather Underground. There were also numerous communist and socialist organizations, but the WU, an offshoot of the SDS, was by far the most dangerous and active. Try as I might a I just can't seem to find Cronkite anywhere near the FAR left, nor was CBS in any way a FAR left capitalist business during this tragic period in our history.

And its comments like that which lead me to... hey, you know what, why not give Bernie a shot. If we can't tell the difference, might as well go where they say we are...
