October update: 17 NSD, 14 CSD.
So far this month I am at 1 NSD and 1 CSD. I got groceries and gas for the car. I also paid the expenses. I have one expense left which isn't due until the 23rd. I should have 4 more controlled spend days for groceries unless I run out of something between shopping days. Most of the time I forget my list and therefore, don't get everything I need. I usually run out of milk and have to get more in the middle of the week. I only buy a quart because I usually don't go through more than that in a week.

I've been Mia on this thread. Lost track of my numbers but have not gone overboard. I did pick up a few things for gifts and a few for me but have the money saved for all. Keeping busy with the usual -- school, crafts and house. Occasionally fighting the usual sinus issues that I get every year at this time of year. Hope all had a great Thanksgiving.

November update: 23 NSD, 5 CSD.
I am not spending through the week, just on the weekend. I did have to get a quart of milk last Wednesday but that is all.

November total: 24 NSD, 6 CSD.
I had to get another quart of milk and they had a pumpkin pie for 50% off because it was a day out of date.

I have no idea with my numbers are as I haven't been keeping track. Need to be more proactive on that front. Have only been purchasing items that I need and I know that I will need to make a major stock up run soon. Waiting for the school break to do so as it will be easier than trying to do it on a weekend during this time of year or after school. Only been purchasing the needed items . My staples are getting low as I have been using up items that I have as much as I can.

I know we have a week yet but is anyone going to start the 2017 Controlled Spend/No Spend thread?

Have not been keeping track of numbers. Have not gone overboard but December is a pricey month for me as several insurance premiums are due, some holiday shopping, car maintenance and so on. No major shopping trips and with the little shopping that was done I did not go overboard on anything. The next few months will be similar as some additional insurance premiums are due then. Also taxes. I take in a deep breath and slowly release it as each item is finished.
I also have to do a major Sam's run this week. Have been putting things off as I didn't want to fight the holiday shoppers and the lines. I usually do a major stock-up of basics around this time of year so my list will be quite long. Not looking forward to that chore but I want to do in during this week off so I don't have to fight the weekend shoppers as I usually have to do.

Blonde Granny: I don't know how to start a new thread but if you would copy ses's first post for this year as a start post, that would be great. Then on the 1st you can lock this one. Thank you and have a great new year.

Since Ses hasn't been here for awhile, I'll start the new thread on Jan 1 and lock the one for 2016. Until then, post as you like on the current one.

This month involved a lot of expenses but most of them were necessary evils. Insurance premiums, restocking the pantry, limited Christmas items, clothing (all on sale and need to replace those that I have to eliminate due to overuse), car service and inspection and several other little things. All are paid for and I will begin anew in 2017.
Have a happy new year.
