My sister Cindy has alzheimer's and I thought those being affected by this horrible disease, need a place to talk about it and vent.
I hate alzheimer's, I hate how it took my vibrant sister and turned her into this person that I don't know. She looks so small and pitiful, I just want to protect her from everything. I can't do much cause I'm not the one who has any say over her. Cindy needs 24/7 care cause she wanders. We had her home and she wasn't sleeping at all, she would get up at 3am to go outside in a snow storm to have a smoke. She falls all the time and her face is so badly bruised up from falling and hitting her face into everything.

Sug-I have no idea how old you are and therefore, I have no idea how old your sister might be. Does your sister have early onset AD and is this your first experience with someone close who has AD?

My sister is 69 years old and she was diagnosed with alzheimer's some 10 years ago. It's just so heart breaking, I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I need time away.

Yes, you do. It's hard being a caregiver, even one that doesn't care 24/7.

Things have gotten better, not with my sister but between the caregivers. Sanity won, WOO HOO ! Sister's always live on, YES !!!!!
