Hi there, gals and Z, LOL! Have you started thinking about the new year and what you'd like to focus on? I just read my 2015 goals and decided I need to do a better job in '16. My 2016 list: - Begin CIC courses
- Open an IRA
- Start the vacation fund already
- Start saving up for a new vehicle. My truck is 15 years old with 160K+ miles last I looked.
- Walk 4+ times a week
- Surpass the home office annual sales "objective"
How about you?

Here we go, 16 goals for 2016.
My three main goals are really about re-establishing good habits I have let lapse.
Main Goals 1) Start tracking expenses again, and make a spending plan. (I did this for 11 years, and then stopped 2 years ago due to job loss/depression. I have created a new spreadsheet and have a good start.) 2) Stop random snacking/re-establish good eating habits. (When Pop Tart joined us 2 1/2 years ago, I had lost over 60lbs and was less than 20 away from my goal. I maintained the weight loss for 2 years, until my surgery this summer, when we had some medication issues, and I started gaining again. I have also fallen out of some of the good habits I had established. I need to go back to them. That might mean tracking everything I eat again.) 3) Walk/exercise more. (Again, this fell off when Pop Tart joined us. I need to start again. I got a fitbit for my birthday, and I know the tracking of steps helps motivate me, so hoping to get back into my walking just to walk practice again.)
Financial Goals 4) Fully fund a 2015 and a 2016 ROTH for C 5) Save $100+/month in Pop Tart's launch fund (goal of $1,250/yr) 6) Get Term life for me - enough to cover the new mortgage if something were to happen 7) Consolidate my old retirement accounts
Physical Health Goals 8) Go vegetarian for 3 months. (C and I have done this before. Pop Tart is really interested in doing it. It will take some planning, but is completely doable.) 9) Take a Yoga class with Pop Tart
Mental Health Goals 10) Take a Mindful Meditation class (possibly with Pop Tart) 11) Maintain my once a week writing night 12) Start working on my novella again
Education Goals 13) Complete necessary training hours to renew foster license 14) Attend professional conferences for work 15) Attend FinCon conference for me
Travel 16) Take Pop Tart to MT (already planned for her spring break in April)

1. Meet current retirement savings goals - I fell short this year due to spending on the house.
2. Increase exercise- at least 5 days per week instead of 3.
3. Lose 10 pounds - I lost 10 this year but still have 10 to go. I really hate this low carb diet so I am going to try to ramp up exercise instead.
4. Develop a better relationship with my SIL.

I've started walking again. I try for 3 trips around the loop for oor little community. I also have been thinking about trying the vegetarian thing this year, but I need a lot of food ideas before I try it.
financially I'm on the right path for spending and income, so no improvement needed there. I have some new medical problems that I'm not looking forward to, but I'll get thru those too.

How about you? So, Q1 is nearly over. How are everyone's goals coming along? Referencing my goals above, I've researched the CIC course start date, started looking at new vehicles (yikes), and will meet the home office annual sales objective in a few weeks. This means there is potential to quadruple it. I am getting over the flu for the second time this year, so walking hasn't been a priority. Haven't yet started the IRA or vaycay fund. How are you doing?

There must have been a few goal threads, and I have no idea where I put mine...
Pretty much they were:
Keep up with YNAB and budgeting (so far, so good)
Put 90% of overtime money away for DS for college (so far, so good, although I might not put that much away next month or two, depends on if I can fix, or have to replace, a car--I can cover the cost, but would need to replenish the savings)
Contribute at least some to a ROTH (just did this yesterday--it's not much, but it's a little start, I have a well funded traditional plan though, so I'm not too worried)
De-stress (last year was probably the worst in my life, and I've had some pretty crappy years. This new job is awesome, and the change alone made 99% of the stress in my life disappear.)
Be a little more active again (the key thing is just being myself again, so it's a slow process, and I've pretty much just allowed myself to not care about losing weight/getting in good shape, etc. I just want to slowly redevelop good habits.)
Attempt to talk DS into community college for one year (I think I've finally succeeded. Hopefully he'll improve his grades and be a better candidate for some kind of scholarship eventually.)
