It was a good day. It took about an hour to do paperwork. I am guessing it was about 75 pages worth and I had to sign my name maybe 15 times. I took the pee test, and when I handed the jar to the technician she walked straight to trash can and threw it away. I guess you can read the results that fast, because she said I passed . this is where I will be working, a four and a half billion dollar office complex. That is billion, not million. They say it is work for 10 years. I'm glad you are working, Hickle. Though I am concerned (not for you) but with the technician tossing away your urine sample and telling you you passed. There is good money in being a whistleblower and reporting the technician and the company (s)he works for to any number of state and federal agencies for that action. You and your co-workers' lives may very well be in danger if the tests are being thrown out for everyone. Not cool on the technician's part. Not cool at all.

Then never mind. The testing cup must have looked something like this. Results in 5 minutes. Better way to test than they did when I was in HR years ago. .

The UAs it sounds like they are using are immediate result UAs. You have a result immediately - or in 60 seconds or so. There is a strip you can read immediately. It lets you know if the urine is of the right temperature (keeps people from bringing in someone else's urine) and gives you an immediate result. If the result is negative, you toss it. If the result is positive, some companies will send it into the lab for retesting to make sure it wasn't a false positive. Doesn't sound like any wrongdoing here. ETA: Sorry. I see this was already pointed out.

He's just helping you get some exercise. I had a Beagle Australian Shepherd mix that loved walks. He'd walk miles a day exhausting the people in the house. And you had to spell walk out or he'd go spastic and get his leash out. We keep a towel hanging on a tub sink in the laundry room. When he comes in, if his feet are wet or dirty, he'll grab the towel, put it on the floor, and wipe his feet on it. He also gets excited when you spell W-A-L-K aloud. Dogs are smarter than many give them credit for. I think we can all agree that your dog is smarter than Benji.
I hold a towel and my dog wipes her paws. I always thought that was pretty cool. She doesn't do a great job with her back paws though. Now I realize that she is a complete underachiever.

Some can not cook, some can not wipe...too many underachievers for one fam(ily)
Can we evaluate Benji''s intelligence vs a hamster now?

Lol, it is good thing the others balance us out then.
If you put Benji and a hamster in a maze, I'm pretty sure the hamster would find his way out first.

You are lucky Benji can't read or you would be in deep doo doo! Have you lost your fear of close dark places with rubber humans?

I hope Benji doesn't get Greg's dog to read this to him.
I'm not ready to speak about those dark times quite yet.

If you went to the politics board you could quote richard in tennessee quoting tennesseer. it would be a trifecta of tennessee guys all in one post. I don't know if you would win anything for that, but you might.
I cant speak for famcfo, but I bet if she had the opportunity to quote famceo quoting famcoo she would do it.

I hurt my younger sister's feelings today. My mother has been needing more help the last few years. ~Three years ago she moved out of her house into a retirement community. My younger sister's daughter helped her find a place in Houston to live. She ended up getting a place about 1 to 1 1/2 hours from my older sister depending on traffic. My older sister wanted her to get a place a lot closer and thinks younger sister and niece pushed the place m mother moved into. My older sister has had a hard life. Her husband has been very ill for about 10 years. He had a liver transplant but that ended up not helping much. He died a year ago. She spent her time working, taking care of her husband and taking care of our mother. Her son had some emotional problems, that didn't seem so terrible but turned out to be. He died 2 weeks ago. I think my older sister has taken out some of her anger and frustration on my younger sister. I love both my sisters very much. My younger sister is hurt from her relationship with her sister being in such bad shape. I have long told both of them if they need to vent or have a problem with the other to go through me. Surprisingly, I have been pretty good at managing that. The doctor said that my mother probably has uterine cancer, checking is too invasive. That cancer has probably spread to colon and bladder. She probably will pass in a week to a month. My niece is, I think, overly judgemental and is not shy about expressing her thoughts. She and my older sister do not care for each other at all. I know my niece loves her grandmother, my mother and has tried to be a good granddaughter to her as my mother aged. She has ajudgemental personality though and many in my family do not think friendly of her. My older sister, is probably a bit unfair, but does not like her at all. About 6 weeks ago, my mother moved to Austin and my younger sister looks after her now. This is where I hurt my sisters feelings. My older sister is visiting my mother this sunday morning. My niece is planning on visiting sunday at noon. I told my younger sister that she should make sure they do not see each other. My younger sister said she was not going to tell her daughter when she could visit her grandmother. I said, my niece better not be ugly to her aunt. I just spoke before I thought and of course could not take it back. I did apologize there, but before doing that, tried to justify what I said. It was just talking without any thought on my part and of course it was stupid. I did apologize and sent her a text later saying I spoke with out thinking and I was sorry. I think everyone involved is good. I think my older sister has a lot of anger about how unfairly life has treated here. She is such a good kind person, and she has had 2 children die, one from stillbirth?? and the other last week. Her husband was sick in such a horrible way and her and her children had to be around that for 10 years. My younger sister didn't deserve the anger she got from he sister and is hurt. I said something stupid. I am sure in the long run it will not matter, but it hurts me to hurt my sister at a time like this. Looney wanted to get the fun back in this place. This post probably didnt help that cause anyway thanks for reading.

Don't beat yourself up too much for it. I wish your family peace and reconciliation. Hang in there. God Bless.

My sister is very involved in church and her church has been very good to her in her hard times. They come to her house at a moment's notice. She used to periodically get anonymous letters with nothing in it but cash, that she thinks came from the church. They have been a blessing to her. Thank you for the good wishes.

Often the thing to do with something like that is to just move on. Lingering on it makes it more important, going on like nothing happened helps to dismiss it as just an offhand comment. Good luck.

I'm really sorry, @hickle. It sounds like the whole family is under stress at this time and things like that tend to happen when there's a lot of stress. As laterbloomer said, best thing to do is just let it pass. You meant no harm.

@hickle - don't beat yourself up over this. This is a stressful time for you all. Your primary concern right now is to your mother, secondary for your sisters, and little concern for your niece. You mom needs no additional drama around her at this time. She already has enough to handle.
Once your mom is no longer with you all, there will be time to make amends, if any is needed, with your siblings and extended family.
