So we are making a comparison using atomic bomb, while ignoring everything about it that makes it an atomic bomb. Nice! no kidding. what was that someone said earlier about posting questions to drive an agenda? Um, I guess some people are ignoring the fact that the REAL THING HAS ALREADY HAPPENED TO BOTH CITIES. DUH!!!

Yes Hondas and Nissans cars are manufactured in the United States which also includes the Prius and the Toyota's Scion, and Hondas Fit....However Japan auto production has been severally hit by the earthquakes as well as their electronics industry. Probably a bit premature to know how bad this will be for their major sources of revenues from their Manufacturing businesses.. While Japan is the Worlds third largest economy, they are in dire financial states right now and one of the talking heads mentioned a $180 billion loss so far on this event. Not good at all.

Above is a photo of the Japanese city of Hiroshima which was completely detroyed by an American atomic bomb in 1945. Below is a photo of the American city of Detroit, Michigan, completely destroyed by decades of liberal Democrat / Union influence. Several conservative talk show hosts and bloggers have used this imagery to suggest liberalism is worse than an atomic bomb, but I want to test the theory here: Begin with the assumption that everyone survives the blast, and forgetting about the radiation levels, and assuming the city government officials of Detroit had supernatural powers to cheat death would you rather your city: a) Have an atomic bomb the size of the one that was dropped on Hiroshima in 1945 hit your city today? or b) Have the exact same people that ran Detroit run your city for the next 50 years? Answer is easy for me. Just wondering what you all think. My guess is that even liberals will have to think long and hard about this question. That the answer is easy for you is because you have a one track mind regarding all things evil in the universe is moderate and politically left , but since your brought up Hiroshima, there was also Nagasaki, possible also a bright city, destroyed in 1945, and your insinuating that all the disintegration of the US, {I don't think were there yet, but besides that,,} is the fault of Democrats because they are the party of liberalism, since 1945 we have had eight years of Eisenhower, 8 years of Nixon and Ford, 8 years of Reagan, 4 years of Bush senior, 8 years of Bush Jr. That adds up to 34 years. We had 8 years of Truman/Roosevelt, 8 years of Johnson and Kennedy, 4 years of Carter,8 years of Clinton and 2 1/2 years of Obama. That's 30 1/2... If my math is correct the conservative side has the moderate/liberal side beat by 3 and a half years,[politically , a long time } so your argument , really doesn't hold much water does it. We're talking about Michigan- and specifically Detroit, but I'll play along: Um, the way to look at it isn't Democrat / Republican, but conservative and progressive-- and we've NEVER had a libertarian. So, we had about 8 years of Reagan dealing with huge majorities of liberals, a few years of Newt as Speaker dealing with a liberal President- Clinton. The fact is that since about 1948, we've had a liberal monolith in charge of everything. The tide is turning now, and we are going to try something different, but the shift is slow. Conservatives aren't in control now (yet), and it'll be another 8 to 12 years before we're really at the levers of power and even then we've got to contend with a massive bureaucracy full of liberal busy-bodies trying to undermine everything conservatives do. Getting back to Detroit-- find me a conservative that had anything to do with that mess. Not a Republican. A conservative. You can't.

While Japan id the third largest economy, they are in dire financial states right now and one of the ralking heads mentioned a $180 billion loss so far on this event. Not good at all. Well, sure. It's a socialist country. Prior to this tragedy (and they were just hit again with a 6.2 some hours ago) their debt was equal to 200% of GDP. Our own is at almost 50%, but it's a LOT more if we take the totality of our REAL debt (Social Security, Medicare, and unfunded pensions) which is not almost $15 trillion, but something closer to $132 trillion. This is a perfect example of why you don't spend your nation to oblivion. The US has ZERO financial security right now. There's simply no margin in the event of a tragedy of this magnitude here. Oh, and the only fault line in the Pacific that has NOT been rocked in the last 7 years...San Andreas.

Asian markets tanked over night...biggest loss in the last 25 years. I'm sure ours will follow suit. It's not going to be a good day for Wall Street.

Over on the market talk board, funny thing, but I picked an ETF that shorts the DOW this month. I'll have to bounce over there and see how that's doing...

I love how Paul slams me for comparing Hitler's concentration camp prisoner list to the list of people conservatives don't like ... then turns around and creates a thread like this one.
Once again, the numbers don't add up.

Shall we ask the people of Hiroshima what they think? I bet I know their collective answer. Better to ask the few GI's who are left from that war who would have been affected by a invasion of Japan. My Uncle, Joe Bor, was in the Phillipines, after that battle, his outfit was in training for the Invasion and my Dad was in Europe with Patons Third and he was a senior Non Com and they were first asking for volunteers to go to the theater, many officers were going, and they were talking of moving necessary units there.
