But I am! (Is this what being an adult feels like? I'm 26, btw) Hubby and I moved into a trailer in August and have been without a crockpot since we did so. To be honest I forgot how much I utterly adored meals cooked in one, particularly pork roasts...that is some tasty broth . We bought one on sale at Walmart last Sunday. (5 QT) Here's our plan for the roast we currently have: 1. Night 1 - Cook half the roast (it's a big one) Eat roast, eat veggies. Add rice. 2. Night 2-4 - Eat rice-pork glop for breakfast and dinner, possibly more meals considering that there's only 2 of us. *some time later* 1. Make other half of roast. 2. Repeat Night 2-4. I guess my only real question is...what other crockpot meals that can cover 4 days (for 2 adults, besides beef stew which we will be doing sooner or later), can you suggest/have recipes for?

I love my crock pot! Coming home to a meal cooked in one is like someone else made me dinner. I like your plans for the pork roast except I would throw some toasted pork sandwiches into the mix just for some variety from the rice.

Not to mention the FANTASTIC smell you get all day while it's cooking!

Make pulled pork sandwiches. Hot pork sandwiches and gravy. Shredded pork fajitas etc.

There's a good recipe for carnitas (Mexican pulled pork) and cilantro lime rice on allrecipes.com.

Why does it always use the confused smiley on the mobile app? Anyway, no recipe needed - just ground beef/Turkey/pork, garlic, and Italian seasonings mushed together and rolled into balls. Put into crockpot, cover with sauce, and cook on low for 6 hours.

I'm slightly afraid of the heat but I'm printing it off to try. If it's too spicy for me and the kids, DH will love it.

I was thinking about putting something in the crock pot this morning. I'm going to have to look for a recipe.

My favorite lazy thing to do with pork roast is to salt and pepper it and pour a small can of the spicy tomato sauce on it (I find it in the Mexican section of the grocery store). Makes great tacos. And rice/pork glop. And pulled pork sandwiches later when you're tired of Mexican flavors. In general, I've had good luck with recipes from the Budget Bytes website. I have not yet tried a crock pot recipe but the other stuff has been very yummy.

Sadly my husband seems to have a thorough dislike of most beans that aren't green beans. He refuses to eat them. I haven't yet been able to figure that one out. I'm noting the rest of these recipes though.

Why does it always use the confused smiley on the mobile app? because that's the BBCode for that smiley. next time you're on a computer, take a look at the BBCode tab on the reply window and see for yourself. that's why sometimes when I'm posting from mobile, it'll come up as -random words- b/c it's smileys I use all the time and am used to just typing out. tama - we have a couple threads with crockpot recipes on this board. I'm also linking the soups section, since those do well in CPs too. CrockPot RecipesCrock Pot Pizza-Low CarbSoups
