I usually hate 3D movies but this I may actually go for... want to see this so bad! Unfortunately have to wait until next week when DH gets a day off.

Worth seeing anyway. I included that I did 3D just because some films aren't worth that extra expense. This one did but I recommend the movie for the laughs. Seriously, this film about a man attempting to survive being stranded on Mars is very funny.

Usually I like to read the book before watching the movie but there's a month long waitlist at my library. I may have to suck it up and buy the book. Is the movie one that you should really watch on the big screen or do you think it will do ok if we rent it on DVD?

It was a great audio. Yes, very funny. I listened to it during spring gardening. I'll go for 3D... Excited, although I can tell from the preview they vary from the book quite a bit.

Since you aren't going to do 3D, and assuming you have a decent sized television, maybe DVD. But can you wait?

Also listened to it. I was hoping that the movie version would be keeping the humor and it sounds like they did. While listening to it, I found myself laughing out loud several times.... you get looks when you do that at the gym. Billis, thanks for the 3-D recommendation. I'll make sure to do that when I go.

We saw it over the weekend 2D though. It was good. DS (14, who is very into science) has a new favorite phrase. Science the shit out of it.

Just saw it (in 3D) and loved it. Appreciated that they kept the humor of the book. They edited out some of the problems that came up but if they had left them all in I would still be there watching. Overall, thought they did a very nice job of adapting it to film.
