And I'm $178 less wealthy than I was when I walked into Dillards.
I bought a beautiful pink long sweater with a large cowl neckline by Ralph Lauren. It had been $109 and was on clearance for $38.15. A pair of medium gray pants (1 size smaller.... ) by Ruby Rd. (not on sale) and a tweed looking very soft sweater by Calvin Klein for $78. It has just enough black in it to wear with black pants or gray pants. The pink sweater will go with gray, winter white, navy or black.
I then proceeded to get rid of 6 items in my closet: 1 pr gray pants I'd never worn, pr. gray cheap fabric polyester pants with elastic waist by Alfred Dunner, 1 red knit sleeveless top that was pretty sad looking, 1 white shrug sweater that was seldom worn and a black shrug also seldom worn.
If I can keep shopping, at this rate I can have far less in the closet and will have turned my wardrobe by 100% before I'm done.
~not very YMish is it~?

No, but who cares? If you can afford it, buy it.

I went to Costco today and spend more $$$ there then ever before. Doesn't help, if your membership needed to be updated and the first two items in the cart were over $ 350. Oops...

Sugi: Wish you luck, chiefly for unstressed shopping and finding great bargains! (You certainly will shop wisely anyway! ) BG: Three new items in and five worn out/not flattering/not useful/not comfortable items out - sounds like a good way to get a more streamlined closet! If you resell or donate the stuff that can still be used by somebody else, some person needing it can use it instead of it dying from old age while just taking space in your closet, which would be a waste of resources. Sounds like a win-win to me. And, if renwing your wardrobe is in the budget, why should you not?

I want to go to Tuesday Morning. I got an ad and they have the KitchenAid Artisan mixer on sale for $199. I've been wanting one but couldn't justify the price. Kohl's had the sme one for $359 (I think).

I swung into Marshall's yesterday on a whim and what do you know - found a pair of brown boots, like I looked for last year and didn't find, in a wide calf, for $35! Yoink. Also found a set of weights on clearance for $5.50 so I can start working out for my shoulder issue that's returning, and a sweater for $16 but don't tell DH about the sweater. I figure I'm getting paid for 9 hours of overtime this week, so I can spend $50 at Marshall's on stuff I need and/or will use.

I bought a down filled winter jacket at Costco for $89.99, it was a special buy and I scooped up one in a gorgeous red color. I'm very happy with my purchase today.

Sugi, I had a down full length coat years ago and loved it. It just doesn't get quite that cold down where we are have another. I did buy a Columbia coat last year that has a zip out extra lining and is also rain & wind resistant. Hope I don't need it this upcoming year.
Sounds like you got a great buy, nothing like loving something AND having a bargain.

Sounds like you got some really nice stuff. I have been on a shopping binge for the last week. For some reason I love to shop in the fall! It happens every year.
So far I have finished mine and DD's Halloween costumes, even down to the shoes. Bought DD a new chair and lamp for her room. Bought myself a new pair of shoes. None of this was a super deal. So that is $250 so far. Today I need to shop for DD's concert outfit. We have something that will work, but it isn't great. DD could also use a new coat.

Just a thought Pat, I don't think it would be appropriate to go over board for DD for Christmas. Regardless of what you've done in the past, there are other residents who might not receive 1 gift let alone an entire sleigh full.
Maybe asking first what they do for Christmas is a good idea, maybe instead of a sleigh full, DD could give a little stocking stuffer to the other residents and do just one gift for DD.
