The comment I made below is part of a larger trend outline, and I'm sure at the time - and still now - to some it probably seems absurd that... Russia, Iran, and Syria think China is going to back them up.... Ain't going to happen... China is so screwed without the UST it's not even funny.... Right now I suspect China is letting the three amigos think they will be there for them. However, consider how much China needs their reserves now that their economy is in a free fall, and Europe - their biggest trading partner - is being flooded with refugees. All because instead of working together to stop the flood before it got out of hand, Russia and Europe were locked in a battle - thanks to Putin - over Ukraine that neither side could afford. Consider the recent events in the Mid East, and the reason for Putin's continued delusions of grandeur.. This is linked back to China making a deal for Russia's natural resources while Russia was under western sanctions for invading the Ukraine, and it's those natural resources that are the true motivation behind China bating Putin into making one stupid, irrational decision after another.(More on that in a bit) Frank Jacobs wrote a great article back in January highlighting exactly why China will NEVER work with Russia. When you read his article you will truly understand how absurd it is that the media wants to sell stories about China vs U.S.A.: Superpowers Collide! And as always, a picture is worth a thousand words - or a billion in some cases... Now, for Putin's stupidity. When I read the following article all I thought was, "NO SHIT! This is exactly why my models were blindsided by Putin. There is NO logic in what he is doing!!!" I have said before, I feel TERRIBLE for the Russia people because a large percentage don't want Putin the ahole running things, and he is going to lead them to so much pain and hardship it's not even funny! Bottom line, don't be surprised when the map in this post becomes a reality over the next 7-9 years.

Just how stupid is Putin? He knows that there is a large militant Muslim movement that wants to revolt against him. For the most part these militant groups have stayed out of the battle because they seen their fight as a battle against Russia. Now that Russia is in the war...... The expansion of Russia’s radical Islamism outside the North Caucasus

Let it be understood: Nobody and I mean NOBODY EVER invaded Russia and claimed success! It has been tried over and over again and again: -Alexander the Great- around 420-410 BC before russians were even a people-failed - Napoleon- 1812 - failed miserably - Hitler -1941- it was his end Tose are just the ones that are worth mentioning What in the world makes anybody think that they would just sit idly by while the Chinese or anybody else takes control? Never will that happen! Nikogda!

They aren't sitting back and taking it, Putin is driving them directly to this with his delusions of grandeur. It's been a long time since Russia has resembled anything like you are describing(emigration proves this) and Putin is spending money like Russia is the biggest economy on Earth. China is simply baiting him into it with economics and following it up with mass migration. What moves this into high gear is the war - of course. Stay

China has most likely financial interests in Russia. We are not the only ones borrowing money from them. Russia did the same. As a result of their agreement to buy gas/oil from Russia, the Chinese have to somehow get there. Therefore they are tirelessly working on building a highway that would give them easier access to Central Asia. They have to move in with equipment and such. Maybe their agreement states that " you can have it but you have to pump it out and transport it"
In the late 90s early 2000s, Romania joined NATO after being 45 years attached to Warsow Treaty(eastern block) As a EU border state and geografical position, Romania is strategic in the interests of NATO. There is no actual value in the standing military that the country has so due to that, U.S. decided to take over some Airforce and Naval bases. The general agreement is more of a lease of said facilities which according to the documents " will be modernized and updated" at the expense of the U.S. and after a period of X years will fall back to the Romanian military with all equipment and technology(except some things) present on the premises. To create easier access to these bases, the U.S. DOD also had to finance road construction and harbour upgrades.
The point is that there might be a deal in the middle that justifies Chinese presence north of Amur river and is not necessarily a take over.

Putin is going to cause a soviet style melt down in the Russian Federation. If China would have been in the position they are today when the USSR fell, the map in the first post would already be they way it is. Just look to 1929 and 1969 for how much love there is between China and Russia in the modern era. But hey, the Sino-Russian cooperation story makes for great "news."

It's funny, now that I have less time to post because of carbon negative renewable energy; I realize how much I was harping on the big picture and not dialing in on enough details. Vrrip pointed that out a couple times over the years. Hope you are good Vrrip!! But, its been fun. Now, as Frank always says; "it gets better." If you're in the hemp game, that is. Mujhadieen leaders in Turkey and Pakistan(talking nuclear war) helping Saudi Arabia - who is now engaging with Iran, while Iran backed Syria is confronting Turkey - take it to the next level. Negative yielding debt (Greece selling negative yield at market) piling up, and funding markets are going erratic. The following article has a lot of the same rhetoric as China is taking over the world. With enough notable exceptions to warrant noting it for sure as I collect data about moving into the future. I'll quote the main contrary point to hold in mind the whole time, but remember; American's don't care about a patch of land in India, and Taiwan is not our business. On the other hand Hong Kong - while sharing Chinese lineage and heritage - isn't buying what the commies are selling. As the article points out and we have talked about here a few times; there is enough historical bad blood between Asian nations; they aren't happy about the "debt trap." Back on point to the thread though. Putin and his delusions of grandeur on what he could accomplish in the Mid East are coming unglued; what, Erogden couldn't be trusted? And the entire time Putin was making deals and allowing Chinese immigration into lands historically occupied; and as the article points out, part of the Chinese dream. So, while commie China is going to have to give it up to the people, and that will include housings to the warriors in the coming war for the East; make not mistake about it. China is connected(by land) to Russia and not America. We are the reason for China's growth and their entire war chest for the next phase is USDs. It makes great stories, China vs the USA, but this is about misdirection. China sacks Russia, now that's the real story; remember: When has a military strategy been to build up other nations so that they are equal to you? Something had to be done after the forties because the war wasn't over, just turned cold. I know that we as humans can walk better with two legs. Why can't the world?? Don't fool yourself, or listen to the media that is always looking for the decline of America. It is possible that short term loss in jobs will lead to long term gain in prosperity for everyone. We are not talking about sections of the planet this is the whole world that is involved.
