Clark, I hope this is a legal submittal for your contest. I couldn't find any
reason that it would not be. I clicked thru about a dozen winning stocks
for the Nasdaq, and the chart on this one caught my interest.

architecto25 BIS is an etf so it is considered a legal pick.

Complex trading vehicles would include options, futures, warrants, mutual funds, or basically any investment that is not a stock or an etf that has a daily listed open and close on Yahoo Finance.

While a cef or preferred stock has a listed open/close they would not be a stock or etf. In the case of a preferred stock, it could have a call date during the week of the contest making it complicated to track. The cef may also have a scheduled event during the time period of the contest making it complicated to track.  

If someone picks a stock with a special event such as a split, merger, or ticker symbol change during the week of the contest it is helpful if you give me a heads-up on that event.

ETA: It is generally not a good idea for players to game the game by picking some stock that has a merger or buyout settled during the week of the contest. You get the closing price for your stock and not any dividend or cash payment that is included in the merger agreement.
