I thought he died like 10 years ago.
I was also surprised to Chaka Khan dancing with the "stars." I thought she was dead too.

Yogi Berra has passed away at age 90. Another icon gone. Geez when we were kids..Yogi Berra, Micky Mantel, Jackie Robinson...were all the rage. Remember Yogi's catch phrase? "It Ain't over till it's over".. RIP

R.I.P. One of the greats. One of the best personalities and senses of humor of anyone. He will be missed.

Could have sworn I posted a reply on thread by weltschmerz but guess not. Can't even find the thread now But here goes again. I have his autograph on a card or program packed away in a box. I am just sad that it takes his death to remind me to drag that box out and go thru it.

A little surprised no one has made a thread on this so thought I would do so...So many stories are appearing on the web..one would think a President has passed...Who could not love the guy and as this article points out..when you were around the guy...you just had to smile.. Thanks for the memories and everything else Yogi..you will never be forgotten...go walk with your late wife of 63 years...the good lord has been waiting to kibbitz with you for a long time... RIP Yogi... ...actually for you..... www.courant.com/sports/baseball/hc-jacobs-column-yogi-berra-dies-0924-20150923-column.html

Yogi Berra, Micky Mantle were playing ball when I was in grade school, Great Idols to look up to. The argument over who was playing Micky Mantle or Yogi Berra on the school grounds were ever day. I asked a young RN in the hospital if she had heard of Yogi Berra, Yes, She said, He was a cartoon character on TV. Where have all my Idols gone??

Yogi was a cultural icon, oc. and will remain so for a good long while. long after we are dead and gone.
