At our Christmas get together,there was a duscussion on how Michelle Obama forced PBS to get rid of the Cookie Monster and replace him with VeggieMonster. Any of those out there with kids know if this is true? This president is intruding way too much. He needs to leave our children's minds out of his agenda.

During the Bush Administration, Cookie Monster started singing the song "Cookies are a sometimes food" and preaching moderation. Bush should have been tarred and feathered for that.

First, you're about a year late on this. This was "news" last year. Second, the US is not a dictatorship and Michelle Obama is just the first lady....so no, MO did not force PBS to replace the cookie monster with veggie monster. |

I have a 14-month-old. I can assure you that Cookie Monster is still Cookie Monster and he eats plenty of cookies. There's a whole episode where he attempts to plant a cookie tree so he can grow his own cookies and eat as many as he wants. That whole Veggie Monster thing was some e-mail rumor that refuses to die.

Why would you ask if anyone knows if it's true and then continue with a comment that assumes it is true?
Were you really interested in the truth? Or were you chaffing at the bit in the hopes of having something else to blame Obama for?
