Who the H...owes that amount of taxes because:
1. most at that level find ways to 'harvest' deductions/loses 2. most need to file & pay quarterly estimates when not withheld (W-2)

Shucks, I guess I will have to let them debit my account from now on. I've always hated giving them access but what's a person to do? I hated writing one check much less two

Looking to take advantage of the "float" on a very large payment. Even at a minscule 1%, delaying the removal of $100,000,000 from your account for just one day is a million bucks. Delay it for a week, and you can buy new a Rolls for all the senior executives. (And get yourself a nice promotion.)

I think the IRS already requires payroll taxes that large to be paid electronically. I really can't imagine that the IRS has ever recevieved a check this large, but I could be wrong (although it doesn't happen often).

A large business. Looking to take advantage of the "float" on a very large payment. Even at a minscule 1%, delaying the removal of $100,000,000 from your account for just one day is a million bucks. I really can't imagine that the IRS has ever recevieved a check this large, but I could be wrong (although it doesn't happen often). I believe that you're right, that for many businesses, electronic payment of certain taxes is required. But, if I could get away with making a large payment to the IRS by check and create a week or two of float, I'd do it.
