Does anyone use Ole Henricksen? I got a couple of samples and really like them so far.

You can try a mixture of lime juice (or, lemon juice) and honey with a few drops of vitamin A oil. That helps some, reportedly, but I have no direct experience with it.

Sarcastic girl- do you dilute the Castile soap or use it straight? What's your skin type? I've been on the hunt for natural skin care that works with my very dry skin for years. My skin tends to be more on the dry site. I used to dilute the castile soap when I used the mint one (it tingles quite a bit)- but quickly found Almond and love it, don't dilute it at all. I use it as a body wash and facial cleanser. I use the mint strictly for cleaning. I also find the citrus great for cleaning- it was a bit drying on my skin. I'll say this- I used to have horrible problems with dry skin. I wanted to SCRATCH MY FACE OFF! and I would get winter eczema spots. Since I switched to castile soap and coconut oil moisturizer I no longer have this issue! I get winter exema as well. What do you use for sun protection in your face in the winter?

But I have family history of skin cancer, and SUNSCREEN FOREVER has been beaten into me since childhood. I don't normally wear makeup, so don't get it there. My challenge is finding a moisutrizer with sunscreen that doesn't eat my face in winter.

I couldn't find a moisturizer (SPF or not) at all that kept me from wanting to scratch my face off until i used coconut oil.

What prescription did you get? I just got one for retin-A.
I just turned 36. I have hecka oily skin, have been getting more pimples lately, have increasing sunspots, and the creases of my nose peel constantly. I'm hoping the retin-a fixes most of this.

I got erythromycin pads. Like prescription oxy pads. I used them 2x/day at first and they cleared my skin right up. No cystic breakouts since starting. Now I just use them once per day because my skin is feeling dry (but I don't think it's from those).

I used to get terribly painful hormonal cystic acne on my chin. I've been on spironolactone for four or five years and haven't had a breakout since. I also love Mario Badescu glycolic acid wash. CeraVe for days I don't use it.

I just spent a lot of time on Paula's Choice site over the past few days, and was able to get some things from the drugstore that seem like they will work out fine for me
Pants - Olay Complete Sensitive Skin moisturizer, SPF 30 was pretty highly recommended on that site. I got some at Walgreens for about $9. It is good so far - not causing me to break out like a lot of moisturizers do.

We have a water softener, makes my skin feel so good. I use Merle Norman cosmetics and have for 52 years. They have moisturizers I sometimes use. There crèmes are good too. I like Caress and Dove soap and only use Allergy Free All. They even buy it for my daughter at the group home.

What's a good remedy for an upper lip that is starting to get darker? About that upper lip...I can't tell if mine is darker hair or darker skin. Either way I feel like I have frickin' mustache. Is there anything one can do besides bleaching, which is a smelly pain on the lip? Also, age/sun spots. Anyone have any tried and true remedies for these? I have a little splot on my forehead that's kind of annoying me. Not sure if anyone else actually sees it but me but I want to start looking for a new job and am looking for ways to help my face along.

Ambi cream has worked to fade a lot of my spots. I am going to pick up a bottle of the Alpha Skin Care lightening cream next time. Both get good reviews on Beautypedia.

Yeah, no. I spend enough time plucking my chin like a frickin' chicken, I am not plucking the upper lip. I have thought about the waxing. Maybe I'll suck it up and drop the money for some wax today and see what happens. I have a stupid high tolerance level for pain so that isn't a problem.

I think I'll take a look at the Ambi. The Alpha Skin Care cream has fragrance in it, according to the review, and my forehead is weirdly sensitive to things like that. Thanks!

I've had fun with facial hair due to menopause Even though it's blonde there's a lot of it and some of it is coarse. I used to just get my entire face waxed a few times a year and my upper lip and chin area every other month. Now I dry shave my blonde hairs and pluck the coarse ones. I'm winning the battle so far. My esthetician said waxing was hard on my face so I stopped. Cheaper anyway to do it myself.

Have you considered hormone therapy, that might help?
I'm so fortunate not to have these problems. But also try to eat a clean diet, far from perfect but I do eat pretty well. Also I take vitamins and a lot of time biotin when is good for the skin. I'm in the sun a lot working outside and don't use sunscreen but I wear a hat. I have a few age spots on my hands maybe 4 or 5 small ones.
I do credit my taking premarin, estrogen all these years for good skin. But then I have no uterus or ovaries and no history of breast cancer in our families. I also get a mammogram annually, just to be safe. If something shows up I will quit taking them.
