Victim has filed a Title IX suit against Baylor. Found that out on the Colorado forum where they are up in arms.
Victim was on soccer scholarship, which got yanked.
Judge is a Baylor graduate and big time contributor. There is a hilarious cartoon floating around the internet about Baylor football that is not appropriate for this board.
On the Colorado forum, the school is referred to as Bailer.

Sickening op-ed. The Bailer sports culture is so out of touch, but so is the athletic culture in this country. Sports should not be more important than academics and they seem to be.

1. it's kind of hard to Google something you don't know exists. 2. the first mention of it that I heard was approximately 72 hours ago. 3. Right now, it's competing with the Duggar shit. It SHOULD have been reported over a year ago. 4. I really don't follow college football. NFL, you betcha. College football leaves me cold. Around Dec. I'll be checking in with the Badgers to see how their season went/is going. This should be a bigger story than Duggar, imo. So, pedophile is caught trying to cheat on his wife, big deal. This is a school covering up a rape and trying to get the rapist back onto the field of competition, while they ran his victim out of the school. The Baylor rape case is about more than sports, just like the Steubenville rape case was only tangentially related to sports. No argument from me on that - just pointing out that most media are going to go with the lowest hanging fruit to report on.

Which is odd given Colorado's history of football players being accused of sexually assaulting women, including one who was their own teammate.

What happened at Colorado many coaches ago. Gary Barnett was suspended for his comments about Katie Hnida. I believed Katie's allegations then and I believe them now. Barnett took pretty much anybody on his team and there were lots of arrests--but no athlete ever murdered a teammate as happened on the Bailer men's basketball team.
Under the current AD, I do think a coach would be fired if he did not dismiss a player for an allegation of this type.
Yes, I am well aware of Coach McCartney's daughter have two out of wedlock babies, who were fathered by football players. The second one was the wake up call for Coach McCartney that he needed to spend more time with his family and he gave up coaching. The daughter and the two sons were raised in the parents' home. The youngest one is currently on the CU football team.
