I got one about a free upgrade to Windows 10 on my HP desktop. I have Windows 8.1 right now.

It's legit. They are skipping 9 and jumping directly to Windows 10. If you have Windows 7 or 8 you can upgrade for free. You don't have to do it RIGHT NOW, you have one year to do it within (for free). I've been advised to wait a bit, let all the glitches shake out first.
Google it, and you can find out pros and cons. DH signed up registered when he first heard about it, but looking at the details, he's not sure our older home PC meets the specs, so I want him to check first before going thru downloading/installing it.
