I haven't watched the entire conference but did walk by the TV when Major Garrett asked President Obama about "being content" relative to the current hostages not being part of the agreement.
Content? What a jerk! He owes an apology BIG TIME! How about, "Mr. President, is there a reason why the hostages are not part of this deal?"
President Obama handled it quite well IMO, he challenged the "content" comment and went on to explain WHY they weren't included. I would have gone ballistic if I were Obama.
OK, heart rate slowing down......

I know I wouldn't have had the self control he showed. Self control? So Presidents aren't obligated to explain their actions to the American People? Why would you need "self control" over a question when it's your job to explain what you are doing?

As for who the real "chicken shit" is in this scenario and dealings, well, history will tell that.

And, if you can't answer a hard question without getting defensive and pissy, then maybe you just aren't very good at your job. Obama's whole schtick is to act like an offended preacher and then proceed to scold anyone who dares to hold him accountable for what he is doing. It is getting to be a pretty old and act but speaks volumes about him as a "leader".

Watch the video: www.c-span.org/video/?c4544493/president-obama-admonishes-cbs-news-major-garrett-know-betterHe does answer both elements of the question. His answer to the first part was a lot more restrained than I could maintained considering it's accusation. I though it showed great self control.

The fact that he often acts like a pissy and offended teenager doesn't speak well of his so called leadership or professionalism.

Why weren't hostages included? That shouldn't even be happening.

I thought he did a great job of calling the reporter out on his wording of the question. I think that standing up for yourself and not just accepting insults thrown shows leadership. I thought the brief pause and then refocus was very professional.

Why weren't hostages included? That shouldn't even be happening. Here is the President's answer: Now, if the question is why we did not tie the negotiations to their release, think about the logic that that creates. Suddenly, Iran realizes, you know what, maybe we can get additional concessions out of the Americans by holding these individuals - makes it much more difficult for us to walk away if Iran somehow thinks that a nuclear deal is dependent in some fashion on the nuclear deal. And by the way, if we had walked away from the nuclear deal, we'd still be pushing just as hard to get these folks out. That's why those issues are not connected, but we are working every single day to try to get them out and won't stop until they're out and rejoined with their families. www.cbsnews.com/news/obama-questioned-by-cbs-news-major-garrett-on-iran-hostages/

A good reporter knows how to hit a nerve versus the lame " entertainment tonight" useless reporters. For me,a good reporter knows how to gain and report useful factual information. This question was asked in a way to get an emotional response.

Exchanging five dangerous terrorists for one AWOL/deserter soldier.
And this is why minorities end up with higher interest rates on car loans, people! They just can't negotiate worth a damn

Ratchets and billisonboard, that's enough. I'm going to remove the posts the two of you have made, beginning with the baiting post (reply #15) made by ratchets. Get back on subject. mmhmm, Administrator
