Why Didn't the US Soccer Team wear Red, White and Blue?

Just curious why the Womens' Team colors were what they were?

They were wearing white when they won.  I thought their other uniforms were blue?  

What are their colors?

I haven't seen any of the games but typically a team has a "traditional" color and then there is a second choice.
National teams are not necessarily wearing the national colors but do have a lapel of sorts on the chest left side more like an emblem type.

If you look closely it does say USA, The shield has , I think 3 stars on a red background at the top. USA is below this with a soccer ball on it. there are some blue strips below this.

The kit colors change all the time. Typically they do have some shades of red/white/blue, but not always. The 2011 world cup kit was black and red (I really liked that one). They actually did have a red/white/blue kit for this World Cup, but they mostly ended up wearing the all white kit.

It was an odd choice by Nike, and they took some flak for it. However I will take the white and green kit over the Where's Waldo kits from 2012.
