I saw a woman at the gym hanging upside down at the pull-up bar so her fit were ~5 feet above the bar. She was doing pullups while upside down.

no, she was upside down with her hands on bar by her hips, then she pulled herself up so the bar was by her boobs then went down so bar was by her hips, then up so bar was by her boobs, then down so bar was by here hips.  All upside down.

Wow that is some strength. 

 I watched some of the track meet today. I love watching the women runners and jumpers especially.

Times were not that great today but still a great group of runners.

I would think she's likely to be lean, but not skinny. Skinny people don't usually have a lot of muscle and you gotta have some good muscles to do what he's describing.

ETA: and while she wasn't necessarily showing off, if I worked hard enough to be able to do that, I'd probably show off sometimes myself.

DD recently went pro in MMA fighting. She's one of those "show offs" in the gym because that is the stuff she has to do to work all the muscles. They are working out for competition, so follow different workouts than the average gym goer. She also goes to multiple gyms since different equipment is needed for some of the workouts.

ZaireinHD I can assure you there is nothing skinny about her or her competitors. They have better bodies than the 'ring girls'. Ring Girls by the way are one of the absolutely stupidest things I have seen.

What? First of all, there's more to a woman than her boobs and ass. Unless, of course, you have porcine tendencies.

Secondly, how many people have bars like that at home, so she can do her workout without people accusing her of showing off?

You sound like you're putting her down because you're incapable of doing the same thing.

Furthermore, don't you have a show car you have for the express purpose of showing off? It has every kind of gimcrack and gewgaw and neon light on it, stuff that doesn't make it go faster or saves on gas. It's only for showing off.

I really doubt she was doing it to show off.  The people who I know who are that dedicated to building their body and strength training don't really notice anything going on around them when they're at the gym.  They're totally inward focused and listening to their bodies and doing what they need to in order to successfully finish their workout and meet their goals.

I have a coworker that could grab on to something sturdy and pull himself up so that his body was parallel to the floor and he'd just hang there. He could do it so easily that it looked effortless. I never tried it, but I doubt I could even get my feet off the floor. He's not lean, he's short and muscular but not cut like a serious bodybuilder. Amazing upper body strength and strong core muscles I guess.

There's a viral video of a group of dudes dressed up as superhero's dancing to Uptown funk.  The guy who is dressed as Spider man is in seriously good shape.

He jumps up to grab an I beam in the ceiling and does a one armed pull up to the beat of the song for several seconds.  Like, whoa man!
