OBAMA: It’s now believed that drought, crop failures, and high food prices helped fuel the early unrest in Syria, which descended into civil war in the heart of the Middle - See more at: newsbusters.org/blogs/scott-whitlock/2015/05/21/nets-ignore-obama-blames-rise-terrorism-climate-change#sthash.ooogRvrP.dpufThrough out history, shortages of food, water, or jobs created movements that lead to uprisings and wars/invasions sometimes. Now if the ME and specificaly Syria or whatever went through that for an extended period than it might be very well possible that the unrest had its roots into shortages. However given the common denominator of the area- Islam- it is easier to ride the religious righteousness wave that tell people "we don't have food, we gotta start a war!" Not that is sane for anybody of his position to put it that way!
