I found the following quotes from a book Deep Water by Jayne Ann Krentz. After I finished reading, I realized how much wisdom was in each chapters quotes.
ON THE WAY OF WATER from the journal of Hayden Stone Deep Water by Jayne Ann Krentz (Philopsohy) The sea lures the unwary with the promise of freedom, but it harbors great risk.
Revenge and deep water have much in common. A man may get sucked down into either and drown before he understands the true danger.
Only the most discerning observer can sense the deep, hidden places in the sea of another’s life. And only the unwary or the truly brave dare to look into those depths.
Shallow water sometimes reveals shallow answers. But deep water holds deep questions.
The most dangerous tides are those that swirl in the shallow waters close to shore where man believes himself to be safe.
The approaching storm turns the surface of the sea to steel and silver. Only danger reflects clearly from such a mirror.
Volcanoes simmer beneath the deepest sea.
Water is the deepest beneath the place where it appears the most calm on the surface.
A man can drown in passion as surely as he can drown in the sea.
The currents shift without warning yet the surface of the water appears to be the same to the observer. In such a situation there is great danger.
Nothing yields so easily as water, yet nothing is so powerful. He who seeks to follow the Way must first acknowledge his own strengths and weaknesses.
Blood in the water clouds the reflections on the surface, making it difficult to see the truth.
The sea tastes as salty as blood. Life depends on both.
The observer must be prepared for the fact that the ripples in a disturbed pool will always crash against the rocks.
He who observes the still pond closely will notice that there is no such thing as an isolated event. Everything happens within the pond affects all aspects of life beneath the surface.
Always study your enemy’s reflection in the calmest water.
It’s easy to see reflections in water. The difficulty lies in recognizing the truth when it appears there.
He who would change the future course of the river must be prepared to get his hands wet in the waters of the past.
A woman’s love is a relentless flood that threatens any dam in its path.
When one cannot stop the rushing river, go with the flow.
A good teacher must sense the natural rhythms of learning in his student and respond accordingly. The act of teaching is discipline for the teacher as well as the student.
To understand a waterfall, one must view the world from behind it.
A clear reflection on water holds a deep truth.
Do not seek to block the onrushing tide. Instead, create another path for the water.
Soon the river of life will rejoin the sea.
Icy cold depth of water.
It is true that the waters of past and future are forever joined. But those who are wise and determined can alter the course of the river.
The storm might rage on the surface but the depths are calm.
To know real happiness, a man must learn to open himself to love.
Water never disappears forever. It flows back into the sea, becomes rain, forms a river, fills a pond, or cascades down a mountain. In one way or another, it always returns.
Tal Kek Chara literally translated means, the tool that carves a new channel through which water may flow. A strip of leather for a weapon.
Water never disappears forever, it may return in some new form but it always returns.
