Remember, we bought a Honda Accord two weeks ago? We took a CU check to pay for it. I've asked DH a few times if he'd gone to the credit union to finalize the loan paperwork. He kept saying no, but he'd get there. I figured someone would call me if there was a problem. The dealership called on Wednesday. They had misplaced all of our paperwork. They were doing inventory/accounting and realized they were short a car. They figured out it was the one we "bought" and then spent a few days looking for our paperwork. They finally found it, and it turns out DH had not signed the check. They had to overnight it to his office (dealership is 125 miles away from where we live), and he sent it back yesterday. So, I've been driving a car that we haven't actually paid for.

I wondered if I could legally get back a Honda Accord that I "sold" one time.
I had a 89 accord that needed a lot of work. I put for sale sign and a guy stopped by and gave me $100 cash and a check for $600. I took his driver license info he lived a few blocks away. He said car was for his son. After check cleared I signed over title but didn't keep any paperwork. 4 months later cops called and said that "my car" was in Walmart parking lot with a stolen tag. I told them I sold it but didn't have info on who I sold it to. I told them if needed I could try to get check info from bank. I was worried they thought I put stolen tag on it. But then wondered if it was still my car since title was in my name. Did not pursue it though.

When I got divorced, the ex got the house. But his dumb-ass lawyer (we shared him) forgot to record whatever.
A few years later the ex called and needed me to sign over the house again to him so that he could refinance. I wondered for 5 seconds if I still owned half the house.

He should have told them he wanted a discount since he was paying for a used car now

When I bought my Subaru, there were 2 silver ones on the lot with 0 miles (they had just come off the truck). I took one home, but they prepared all the paperwork for the other (according to VIN).
I got a call a week later telling me that I needed to go in and sign the corrected paperwork.....so essentially I stole a brand new car off the lot (and left the one I bought). Not a biggie, but I wondered what would happen if I didn't.
