The police kill more people in Utah then gang members do. They kill more people then drug dealers do. The only group that kills more then the police in Utah is intimate partners. I wonder how spouses of police do? This was before 2010 so, I did not post in current events. reason.com/blog/2014/11/24/in-utah-youre-more-likely-to-be-shot-beFormer police lieutenant Chris Gebhart ... There is nothing saying that those that got shot by police weren't holding a weapon themselves or threatening with a weapon. Using the same logic as the article, millions die every year in hospitals. We don't have to specify that some are dying of old age and was about their time, some arrive to the hospital already dead and some are dying of incurable diseases/illnesses. We can blame the doctors for it can't we?

Maybe the state of Utah needs to pass legislation outlawing Police Forces in the state.

I always question the validity of statements made by "formers" of any line of work. I'm sure there's some honest formers out there, but there also is a lot of disgruntled formers also. With the latest hype on police in the media, his timing is a little suspect. IMHO of course.

Considering the personality of a good share of the police officers that I know, I can envision situations where the behavior of those police officers would escalate many situations, rather than defuse them. Maybe the Utah statistics are a commentary on Utah's law enforcement selection practices.

hom·i·cide: noun: homicide; plural noun: homicides
the deliberate and unlawful killing of one person by another; murder.
Were all of the officers charged and brought to trial for murder?

The majority of Utah's police force is Mormon. Are they particularly bloodthirsty, I wonder? 15% seems incredibly high.
"Utah is 70 percent LDS," Kerns said. "LDS members run the state government. The majority of judges, police officers, firefighters, lawyers, real estate agents and bankers are LDS. Almost everyone here is LDS." www.bpnews.net/44307/week-of-prayer-a-heart-for-mormonheavy-utah
