You beat me to it!
Seems the President is dipping in several categories. Clinton will now have to start distancing herself from the Administration.

Second terms are usually hard on the Presidents. Obviously, this President is no different than previous ones.

public presidential polls of this kind are meaningless. Harding was the worst president in the last century. how did he survey?

dj, it is what it is yes, it is......BULLSHIT. this is consistent for me, btw. most people are not in any position to judge how good or bad a president is, as is readily apparent by a cursory review of this board.

Yes, I am fully aware only a select few are in any position to make an allowable comment on the board, without being ridiculed.

also, i should add one thing.
the OP is also rubbish.
the question asked was not whether you have a favorable opinion of Obama. most people still think he is a decent fellow, when asked. the question was "how is Obama handling his job?".
that is NOT the question asked of Bush. they asked for their opinion of him- presumably as a person. and again, most people think he is a decent fellow. it does NOT ask whether he was a good president, whether he handled his job well, or whether he made good decisions, which would have been far more relevant in terms of comparing them.
but i digress. every year that passes makes PUBLIC opinion of Bush less relevant. in 40 years, he won't even show up in many surveys, just as Nixon and Carter don't now. but historians will still be comparing presidents, and when they do, Bush will fall to the bottom of the tank.

In the grand scheme of things does a friggin poll mean diddly squat. People sure get their panties all in a wad over them. They have no bearing on whether or not I get up in the morning and carry on with my plans one bit. But I admit that there are some who probably live and die by the POLLS. Heck maybe that's their reason for just climbing out of bed in the morning - POLLs, Polls what are they saying today I must plan my life around the latest.

Take the same poll 1 day later by different people and it will change. I guess that would be considered the here and now. Of course the here and now changes minute by minute so what's the point? But I will admit that in all my years on this earth I have never met a living soul that has been a part of a poll - maybe they all just forgot to telll me they were polled though so I guess that is a moot issue ETA: I'm curious as to whether or not a poll has any bearing on your life or thinking - just wondering? I could use educating in my old age about this stuff

I could use educating in my old age about this stuff polls are not nearly that vacuous. they are actually quite scientifically done, generally speaking, and they are RARELY outside of the published statistical error, with the exception of Rasmussen and a few really poor private polls, which are outside of statistical error over half the time.

Wonder if this is not an effect of the grass WAS greener AND some memory loss. Bush still does not track very high IMHO. Not sure about Obama yet. Need a bit of distance.
