OK, OK - fixed the link for the video by snagging it from YouTube. NOW maybe somebody will have a comment?
If you watch the video, I'm sure you'll find this situation equally disturbing. The inconsistencies (footprints, DNA, damming testimony, photo line up, GSR issues, etc.) along with an apparent rush to judgment are astounding.
Link to a VERY SMALL portion of the program text in part from:
www.cbsnews.com/news/crosley-greens-last-chance-for-freedom/
For more than 16 years, "48 Hours" has investigated what many say is a case of injustice. That case began in the early morning hours of April 4, 1989, when a young woman called 911 saying she thought her boyfriend had been shot. The problem was she was three miles away from the crime scene and she had trouble telling police how to get there.
"Something was not right," said Mark Rixey, who at the time was a road patrol deputy for the Brevard County Sheriff's Office. "Why would somebody say there's something happening here and nothing's there?"
"All we had was that he had been shot and that he was in the orange groves. I sent a deputy to pick her up because we absolutely, would never have found her ... we'd have been there all night looking," Diane Clarke, who was a patrol sergeant in Brevard County, told "48 Hours" correspondent Erin Moriarty.
"She remained in the vehicle out here and refused to walk down there," said Rixey.
"'You don't wanna see him? You don't wanna know his condition?' ...there was something wrong with this," said Clarke.
ETA to fix previously posted video link - I hope

Wow, they didn't even investigate the GF?
Brevard County has a lot of corruption and people on power trips.

Wow, they didn't even investigate the GF? Brevard County has a lot of corruption and people on power trips. GF isn't talking except to say it was Crosley that did it.
On the DNA side of things, the prosecutor hung his hat on mitochondrial DNA vs. Nuclear DNA based on a hair sample found in the truck. As it turns out, Crosley's brother, O'Connor, had been in the truck PRIOR it being sold to the victim.

I read the article-did not watch the video.
I think a full investigation and re-trial is in order here. Too many holes and what appears to be potential coerced testimony.

I saw that 48 hrs episode. What cn I say: the stubborn denial that they may have convicted the wrong man/person was beyond disgusting(and I'mgiving them more of the benifit of than is deserved here). As presented there were actually many reasons to doubt that this man was guilty and justice (shoud) demand(s) that this case gets a thourough review!
