So the dude I have been dating for the past 6 years has been living in a house he needs to sell yesterday ever since I have known him. He decided to do an update and get it on the market. The contractor promised it wouldn't take more than a few months, and it took a mere 15. At long last, the listing is signed and the first open house is tomorrow. BF loves the house and really doesn't want to sell it. I love it, too. It just has a wonderful, relaxing feel to it. However, it is an expensive house to own. The property taxes, insurance, HOA dues, and maintenance are pretty high. The realtor commissioned a video guy to shoot some footage for marketing. It's posted on YouTube and here is the link: linkIf you'd like to make an offer, feel free.

OK. I'll just re-copy the entire post. But, I sure hope there isn't going to be any drama.

Yes, I can see why you hate to give it up also why it might be very high-maintenance!
Yes, there will be drama. I consider myself pretty unflappable but it's just been a lot of upheaval. Then there are the people who don't like your house. How DARE they! I told DH the only thing that keeps me from taking it off the market is that I know we'll still want to sell and we've already started the process.

It is pretty. Is that his own private pool? Yes. It's inside the house.

Nice!! Gotta ask, what's the listing price? BF can't recall if they decided on 1.1m or 1.2m. You'd think he would recall that, but he is just not big on pesky money details. Update: BF just called realtor. It is listed at 1.2m. The house is in Davis, CA. The market is pretty hot right now. I don't think there is any real estate at all in Davis under 500k.

You want drama? But, but, but, the en-suite bathroom only has one sink! That is a deal breaker and how dare the owner not knock the price down at least 20k for that fatal flaw, yada, yada, yada... but seriously that is one gorgeous house. Thank you for sharing.

I would never see the rest of the place, because I'd be soaking in that tub about 18 hours a day. Gorgeous house!

Good luck selling the house! will he live with you when it sells or is he buying so,etching else? Yes. He moved in last October. He has a part-time job in my town now (about 90 min drive from Davis). He still goes to the house pretty much every week though, for 2-3 days at a time. He has been doing a lot of the "finish" work. Replacing vents, hanging mirrors, etc. It's going well so far. It's a big change for him. My house is 1/3 the size, and I have a house full of kids. (My 19 yo son graduating next week, my 24 yo daughter and her 25 yo husband). It's a big change for me, too. We will see how it goes when he isn't leaving for a couple of days on a regular basis.

I would never see the rest of the place, because I'd be soaking in that tub about 18 hours a day. Gorgeous house! Lol, that tub is my Calgon fantasy. It has tiny bubble jets around the bottom, too. Before the remodel, there was a built in tub made of tile in an "L" shape, so two people could lounge and their feet touched. I loved that one too but the tile was very dated. On the weekends, I like to soak in the hot tub till I get hot, then hop over the wall and lounge in the pool till I get cold. I spend hours doing that. <sigh> I am going to miss that place!

The one sink is odd but I'm thinking those are his and her bathrooms maybe? Then it's not odd at all but wonderful!! I wish I was rich. Are those 3 double garages? Wait til I show DH. That's the only thing he misses from his old McMansion.

He must really love you because I would not sell that house! holly God... Your own indoor pool + hot tub? Are you kidding me? 3 car garages? Just add some putting green in the back and it is a male fantasy come true. You can keep the rest of the house, I just want the 3 I mentioned

What's the background story? Was he married before?
