Agreed. Yoga pants and a workout tank are the middle class's dirty pajamas. What Yoga Pants (actually wrestling pants, which might be a little thicker) and crop-top or tank are my DD's every day wear. I'd put up a picture if I could figure out how to make Instagram show up here! Lets try photobucket instead is this your DD that's big into working out? Because I'd be wearing all kinds of slutty stuff if I had that body (and I was about 10 years younger, lol)!

@pinkcshmere, I went to TJ Maxx yesterday and took a look at the jeans. Tried on a pair of Lucky Brand and Joe's Jeans. The Luckys were alright, but the Joe's looked pretty damn good on me. Too bad they were $60! I might hit up a consignment store or two on Friday to see if maybe they have Joe's Jeans. Love, love, love Joe's Jeans! $60 is actually a darned good deal.

I believe that is the plan, but it will take a few months for her to get down to Bantam weight. She won her first pro fight a couple weeks back. Bantam weight is not her natural weight, so I'd prefer she stay in Lightweight class. But my vote doesn't count

I hit the like button! Your fault for distracting us with your daughter! Everyone needs a neutral heel, go for it! That actually reminds me that I need new beige heels.

I like the shoes! just wear them with something with a lot of pop. Pop, I got no pop! Like my whole wardrobe is black!!! My stylish younger DD took me shopping once and some lavender crept into the closet, but it was a little too JR's style for me so I don't really wear it. Scarfs are colors, but that is about it. I think I need a fashion intervention!!!

Anyone have any suggestions for weekend clothes? I have fallen into the trap of having only work clothes and pajamas. It's a struggle to find something other than a t-shirt and jeans when I go somewhere on the weekend. (Not that there's anything wrong with that outfit, but if we are going out to dinner or to a party it would be nice to have something a bit dressier). I am short (5'2") and a size 2-4, if that helps. Maybe you already found something, or maybe our tastes are completely different (totally OK - there's a wide variety out there!) But if you haven't found something a bit dressier, you might want to take a look at Jude Connally dresses. I know a dress sounds fancy, but these are very multi-purpose and actually easier to wear than separates. Hear me out on why these are some of my favorites:
- Super easy to dress and wear. Pull on and go. Sounds minor, but when you have a little one, the last thing you want to do is spend a long time getting ready. - Don't need ironing and can be washed in your regular laundry - no dry cleaning. - Fun prints that can be casual and fun or add some jewelry and heels for a dressier look. - Very flattering lengths and cuts. I'm a little taller and bigger than you - 5'3" and size 6 and find these are fairly universally flattering right off the hanger with no tailoring required. - Perfect weight fabric - again, doesn't wrinkle, packs well and isn't hot in the summer. - Comfy and unfussy. Nothing binds, pokes, constricts, pulls, whatever. Very like the adult version of wearing dressy pajamas.
Love these dresses! I'm a super casual type and these are one of my go-tos; no work at all and lots of compliments.

Lol Dee I've gotten them on clearance at a couple of stores and recently seen some on ebay. They're not cheap, but they're very well made and I think they'll last and still look good for many years, so that's a plus.

Second the recommendation for the Danskin yoga pants at Walmart. I have a pair that have lasted for years that I love--comfy, flattering, and pretty good staying power. At least no one has told me yet that they can see my underwear through them I like NYandCo for interesting and flattering tops. They're a little hit and miss but I've come across a number of tops there that are somehow really well designed and look great on (I'm about a size 10 and sturdy aka not much of a waist, especially since DS arrived). I just picked up this one in dark blue and a white/tan/brown pattern: www.nyandcompany.com/nyco/prod/sale/all-clearance/Flutter-Sleeve-Pleated-Top-Solid-/A-prod3100006/#.VVvvIilh3EZ(I like the neutral beige pump too--nice lines!)

It's one thing to wear work out gear on a daily basis when you are actually working out- and especially for someone who is active all day as your daughter appears to be. My dirty pajama reference is towards people who who lounge around all day in work out gear yet never work out. I know those ladies sleep in them, wake up, go run errands and feel superior to people in pajama bottoms but essentially they are doing the same thing. They just think they are fooling everyone.

@rockit your daughter is an inspiration to me. No lie! She built that body. I come from a long line of flat butts & so was hers. She built that booty through muscle development. Never would have believed it if I had not seen it. She runs booty camps now cause she can certainly show that it works!

I agree, just based on height, I shouldn't be a small in anything and I often buy small tops. Same here-based on height alone I should be in much larger sizes than I am. I don't really care what size the tag says, I just want something that fits. And I mostly abhor pants. I need a 36" inseam and can never find them that long. And my thighs are muscular so finding skinny jeans that fit my thighs and aren't too big at the waist is a pain. Nordstrom Rack and The Limited do sometimes have pants that fit me. And someone mentioned Lucky Brand jeans. Those are my current favorites. So I almost always buys things full price because when I do find something that fits, I'm just so ecstatic I barely look at the price tag. Ann Taylor, Long Tall Sally and Long Elegant Legs all have 36 inseams. LTS may even go to 39 on some of their pants. i never pay full price at Ann Taylor either. They always have 40% off codes so the pants are around $60. I own a lot. Im 5' 11" and their pants are a tad long on me.

I come from a line of flat butts too, but then I discovered Vicky Justiz and her booty building workouts. The butt is like any other muscle - building it calls for less reps and more weight. Dead lifts and weighted leg lifts are my friends!

Lol! You start at an all fours position with ankle weights on. Stretch one leg straight back with flexed or pointed toe with toe touching the ground. Then lift that leg until it is level with your torso and lower back down to starting. Do a set of reps then repeat on the other side. I haven't done them in a while but I would just do a minute of lifts on each side with 5 lb ankle weights on each ankle. Those are no joke and you DEFINITELY feel it in the glutes!
