Pope Francis is a breath of fresh air for Vatican and Catholicism. He's a modern thinker open to many modern-day issues . Another example from the link: The OP started the thread, provided a link & then attached some of the text from the link without providing an opinion/comment of her own?
If she's Catholic, I'd be interested in her feedback on this.
If not, how does any decision the Pope makes regarding the Catholic church and its members affect her?  We have had so many freaking threads on abortions where women claim men have no rights concerning the issue and to stay out of it. Men disagree with that stance. So, in your little world, if you are not a practicing Catholic, do not start a thread on Catholicism? I suppose lapsed Catholics cannot have a view about it either? You do have an obsession with certain posters, and others have noticed it. This is not a criticism. It is an observation, and perception is reality. |

Well... technically women masturbating doesn't "waste" eggs... whereas men masturbating "wastes" sperm. Masturbation is only a "sin" due to the "spilled seed" that wasn't "spilled" inside a woman. Well... if we want to get REALLY technical... life only "began" once.... all other life is a continuation of that beginning, because, technically, an egg has "life" and sperm have "life"... and they both are just continuations of the life form that produced them.
life:
noun- The condition that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic matter, including the capacity for growth, reproduction, functional activity, and continual change preceding death.
But, discounting the "chain of life", I side with mmhmm... The docs I know don't believe it (life, as a separate entity, with all the rights and privileges of an individual) starts at conception either.

Ummm...you would need to have done the same thing, except instead of Sroo claiming it is true for ones Sroo knows, you're claiming it for the entire medical field. Sroo's premise is far more likely than yours. Sroo might know 3 medical professionals, and 2 have the same beliefs. It wasn't "every medical professional I've ever seen". Sroo claims to know what the medical professionals that Sroo knows believe. You're claiming to know what the "vast majority" of medical professionals on planet Earth think.
Again, it might actually be a fact as you state it. You just have no way of knowing it to be true or not.

Yes, Ratchets, abortion is something that's discussed among medical personnel quite often; especially, on a labor & delivery floor and in the ER. Being one of them, it's something I do know their opinions about. I don't believe it's something the "overwhelming majority" of them are against in all situations. If you wish to believe that, you're welcome to do so. No skin off my nose what you choose to believe. |

Unless you actually read some of the results and found links stating what you state, all you know is your search terms returned a lot of results.
I Binged 'Easter Bunny' and got 5,980,000 results. I know all the means is the search engine found and returned those results based on finding 'Easter Bunny', 'Easter', 'Bunny' and possibly things that seem related to that search term. 'war on christmas' returns 81,200,000 results. Does not mean there is one, nor that everyone agrees.
