I think the problem with the police is often blown out of perspective.
Just in general, what percentage of all professions (doctors, lawyers, accountants) are bad at their jobs or crooked? I wouldn't think it's out of the relm of possibility to say 3-5%. What percentage of all professionals make mistakes? I'd say everyone makes a mistake in their career sooner or later, some more than others.
Now, let's apply that logic to cops. Some cops are bad, and others make mistakes. Does that mean there is a massive, systemic problem? I think with the advent of cell phone cameras and the 24 hour sensationalist media, we get a small problem that's blown into a much bigger problem. There are thousands of interactions/arrests made every single day, but only the very worst get cherry picked by the media.
Now don't get me wrong, the problems that do exist are very serious and bad cops should be taken off the street. But I disagree with the assessment that there is a massive, systemic problem in the Justice system that requires radical restructuring of the entire thing. It's easy to make any claim you want and cherry pick a few cases to support your position, but ignore the 99.9% of the other interactions of police and convictions that ignore your case.

3-5% -That's quite generous. No way I would go under 10%. IMO at the very least 1 out of 10 people with any given job or career are either incompetent, corrupt, or both. That goes from jizz mopper to president.

I heard 93% of the people in prison are men. Does this mean the system is unfair to men? Should we convict more women to even it out? The police think of men first when they think of violent crime someone shot or beat to death it must have been a man. They target young men more than elderly men and more than young children and virtually never target little girls and old woman for the most violent crimes. A baby beat to death and the first suspect is mom's boyfriends even if a man has his own children beat to death they would suspect him over his girl friends.
I think they don't like men between about 16-30 so unfairly target them and even more if they aren't white for no reason at all. They aren't really more violent that say women between 50-65 are they?
