or vice versa.
This is the form that shows the bifurcation of the gain based on the number of days in rental service after 1/1/2009.
For the life of me I can't find this on IRS.gov
Can someone send me a link or the pub #
Thanks!

Hi Taxref,
I saw this and thought this is waaaaaay more complicated than a prior form I remember. That form might have had 8 lines and shows how to calculate the years you had your home in rental service vs personal residence in order to calculate the bifurcated gains.

So do I have this whole converted residence from a rental confused? I thought you had to bifurcate the cap gains between your personal use and service as rental for anytime after 1/1/2009 even if you qualified for the cap gains exemption?
ETA: I know you have claim the recapture from the depreciation.
