After I left my first husband I didn't want to date for a year. I was just going to work on making new friends and reconnecting with old ones. Well one old friend developed a crush so I decided to put off hanging out with him. Next thing you know I run into him. We lived in the same metro area, but in different cities, 45 minutes apart. So I figured, ok fine universe, I won't avoid him, but let's just keep this a group thing. We ended up planning a camping trip and no one could make it but my sister, then she got sick and had to cancel last minute. Hmm, well maybe we can just be fwb. Nope. We are getting married next month.

Well, if the Universe is speaking to me it needs to speak up - I can't hear it over all the other 'voices' in my head. I think sometimes it's more a case of "she who hesitates is lost" than some bigger thing thwarting me. The thing with the hesitation is that you need to determine if the reason you are hesitating is because you lack the confidence/doubt your choice OR if it's because you really don't want to do it. <-- that's a generic you and not a you you - you know?
With property sometimes seeing it hit some public media means it's already been seen by and either rejected or bid on by other people who were looking... Basically, the people who were 'connecting' with the people who put the info on the list - got to hear about (and maybe even see and bid on) the property BEFORE it hit the list. It's not fair but that's the way it sometimes works.
I had a bid in on what became my primary residence before the realtor had time to enter the info into the MLS - this was 18 years ago. I was having trouble getting to see houses before a lot of other people had seen and bid on them - I had looked at about 40 houses and put in loosing bids on 3 or 4 can't remember. I finally got an "in" - the neighbors knew my SIL and had a realtor in the family who worked with the realtor who got the listing so I got a call to immediately talk to the listing realtor about the house he was currently working on, I caught him before he got back to the office and the rest is history. Probably the easiest money that realtor ever made. It was a slam dunk easy sale/closing. Thankfully, with all the looking and the failed bids I had a lot of confidence and only moderate doubt about the house - I knew it was a good house and a good price - so I bid accordingly. If I didn't get it -I'm sure there was another better house just beyond the horizon.
This happened to me too. I was looking to buy in a specific part of town and I quickly learned that the houses worth buying in that area always seemed to have a buyer before they were officially listed. It took almost a year to find my house. At one point, I was so frustrated that I put in an offer on a condo across town from where I really wanted to move to. The sellers accepted my offer, but I had FHA financing and they said the association didn't have enough money in reserves. I would have had to get a different loan. The sellers had moved out of town and were desperate to get rid of the condo, so they started throwing money at me, offering things like reducing the price even further and paying all my closing costs. I took the FHA thing as a sign that buying the condo would be a mistake. I didn't really want a condo anyway, and I didn't really want to live so far from my family because they helped a lot with my children because of my work schedule. I didn't buy it, even though the sellers were making it tempting. After several months of looking, I had a conversation with my realtor because I felt bad that she'd spent so much time showing me so many houses and nothing had worked out. She told me not to worry about it, that when we found the house that was meant for me, everything would fall into place. I'll be darned if that's not what happened. The seller accepted my initial offer, the appraisal and inspections were good, my lender didn't hassle me with a lot of last-minute uh-oh's, we closed on time, and I moved in. The whole process was pretty much smooth sailing. When I compare this house to houses I would have bought if there hadn't been issues, things I wasn't even taking into consideration or care about at the time made this house the better choice for me. I do believe this was the house I was suppose to buy, I just had to wait for it.

The Universe is unfolding as it should... hHave to go, all be well.
Max Ehrmann
Desiderata
Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

I'm asking myself that question a lot these days. So many first-world problems have been dropped on me lately that I have to wonder what the message is supposed to be.

I bumped into a visitor in the lobby of the hospital where I work. She said "Oh, I have to go back upstairs; I forgot something in my father's room. Now I won't be able to tear myself away again. Isn't that the worst thing in the world?"
Ummm, no. You could be in Nepal right now.

Speak softly said the wind cause the stars are laughing so loudly at us. Whispers of glory missed by a hair, but alas tomorrow brings more.

It looks like me whispering in the dark pays off finally! She thinks that the universe is speaking to her. Only that I kept on saying : "this is not the place you're looking for!" It apears now that I am the universe! How cool is that!

The sun speaks, to the planets, the planets speak to the asteroids, who don't listen too much to the comets. It's a mumble jumble, but have you ever heard Jupiter speak, I have and it roars.

I've always liked Max Ehrmann's poem...and I'm glad I got some of you talking about the really big bizarre unknowable things...no, not Bruce Jenner or the Kardashian's in general.
I wonder if my parent's bought any of those cereals with his picture on it from the mid 70's?
That is another extraordinary journey.
And where is honey boo boo...the universe doesn't seem right without her and her mom and dad.

My last office had no couch or anywhere comfortable for sleeping but we did have showers. We were putting in a women's locker room so maybe it would have a couch. I would have rented a storage room to keep my clothing and personal things keeping 2-3 days worth in my car, probably showered at the gym since I wouldn't be expected to shower at work. So working 8-5 then leave for dinner, library, gym or where ever until 11 then wake at 5 and go to the gym to get ready for work and out to breakfast. The problem would be the lights from my office if my boss drove past work and saw I was still there at midnight he would tell me I shouldn't work so hard.
We had employees who would live in RVs in the parking near work, that would be much easier.

I'm curious if the $20,000 "saved" was money not spent on rent, or money not spent. I can't imagine going out to eat all the time and paying more for laundry service would be very easy on the pocket book. Also you'd have to be ridiculously good looking or asexual for it to not put a big crimp in your dating life.
