Lol Dark, my Company Christmas party is at a swanky country club the last Saturday before Christmas every year. Every year I would like to decline, but I swear my DH enjoys mingling with my co- workers in that setting. I didn't buy a new dress this year, I was too busy to shop, so I just chose from what I already had.
Hope you are enjoying the wine, I would prefer wine over beer.

I hate hanging out with rich dudes though. They're all so damn tall! If you exclude the chefs, valets, bartenders, and photographers I think I was the shortest dude there. I'm 5'10" for crying out loud. I shouldn't spend an evening in a room with a 100+ people looking up at everyone all night. It ain't natural. Most of them had at least 4 inches on me. Including a some of the women, although they were all in heels so they're actually my height. I'll have to get platform shoes to wear to the next fundraiser. No joke. Remember a few years ago when I posted about the idea of growth hormones for my oldest son who is projected to be very short? I wrote how I'm 5'3" and even in heels am like a midget at business functions, the yacht club, rich people fundraisers, etc. I'm still a little worried about how the oldest son will navigate all that if he ends up as short as we think he will.

His dad is 6', and he's the shortest of his brothers who are 6'2" and 6'4". His paternal grandfather was only 5'10", maternal grandfather 6'. No idea on DH's side, but on my side both my grandfathers (my son's great grandfathers) were tall - 6'4" and 6'1".

Damn! You're telling me I need to go to swanky places and fundraisers to find a bunch of tall guys?! They're probably all married though, right?

My son was short for his age. I am 5'4, my mother was 5' and was told my father was 5'8. Son graduated hi school at 5'9 and downright scrawny. Fast forward 3 yrs and he came home at 6'1 and built like a line backer. First words out of my mouth were "are you on steriods" He was just a late bloomer. But his dad's side were all tall including his aunts and grandparents. I have another friend whose son waited till in 20's to have a growth spurt so all is not lost

My company has a formal event every February. I have 3-4 dresses that get rotated. This year everyone was complimenting me on a dress I bought at Ross for $24 that I wore for the first time back in 2012. LOL - obviously no one remembers or cares what I wore 3-4 yrs ago. Formal dress styles don't really change all that much and really I just don't care either way.
