Texas leads nation in generating export-supported jobs

Trade with Texas #1 trading partner is Mexico and that is supported with better ports of Houston and Corpus.  Texas leads California.  Did I say Texas Banking Lead my thinking on Texas.

When it comes to turning trade into jobs, Texas is leading the way.

Last year, more than 1.11 million jobs were supported by Texas exports of goods, according to the Commerce Department’s International Trade Administration. That’s 26 percent more than the number of jobs tied to exports in 2009.







Coming in at a distant second was California with 775,000 jobs. Nationally, 11.7 million U.S. jobs were supported directly and indirectly in 2014 by exports of goods and services, the report states.

“Texas companies of all sizes are exploring the benefits of exporting and introducing their world-class products to the 95 percent of consumers living outside U.S. borders,” Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Stefan Selig said in a prepared statement.

Texas is No. 1 because of the state’s industrial base, said Jorge Canavati, president of J. Canavati & Co. LLC, an international trade agent that helps companies develop their international logistics plans.

“Texas also is a much friendlier environment for manufacturing and exports,” Canavati said.

World’s second-richest country the USA placed second in exporting during 2014. America shipped US$1.623 trillion worth of goods around the globe, up by 27.1%since 2010.

In fact the USAs the number two exporting country in the Whole World for 2014.  We are also a large exporter of cars to Germany,  art to France and planes to China.  -bat-WE exported more beer to Mexico.

It just looks so small compared to your imports. ... most years.

It's fair to point out that per capita, you aren't quite playing with the big boys yet. It is unusual that Texas, of all places, is the US's chief exporter.
