My grown daughter talked me into a daddy/daughter trip in Sept for a friend of hers wedding in San Juan Puerto Rico. She is not in the wedding party. The bride and groom have a "special" rate for the guests that come. Marriot hotel and Stellaris Casino. Use the wedding code and get it for $140/night.
Do you really get a good deal by booking a air/hotel package or booking individually? Anyone stayed at this hotel?
Also, booking sites? Any better that the others?

I've never stayed at this hotel, but I do think you get a better rate booking air/hotel together. There are several hotels near this one, so don't be afraid to check out one next door, you may get a better rate. I think most of the specials really don't pan out to be that much of a break.
Now, while you are there be sure to go to old San Juan and walk around, it's a great town with beautiful old architecture with an awsome Carabian feel. I was just starting to make plans for a return trip. They have several cruise ships that port there, might be a good opportunity for a side trip?
