Cast announced today www.msn.com/en-us/tv/gallery/dancing-with-the-stars-season-20-contestants/ss-BBhULOa?ocid=answrap11Looks like the usual mix. An ABC/Disney tie in: Chris Soules of the Bachelor An inspiring physically challenged individual : Noah Galloway an Irag war vet 2 popular oldster:Patti LaBelle and Suzanne Summers A sports figure: Michael Sam An "underage" performer: Willow Sheilds age 14 And a ringer: Nastia Liukin. A championship gymnast dancing with Derek Hough. I'd say this is their contest to lose.

It's usually the Olympians contest to lose. I hope the Bachelor gets kicked off early, I see enough of the commercials, I don't want to see him there too.

I don't normally follow this show, but hearing that Suzanne Summers will be on did attract my curiousity. I know she's the "nostalgia" entry, but I was still a bit suprised. Then I recalled that she'll be on an extended run in Vegas later this year, so then it made sense. This kind of publicity will just sell out the Vegas showroom.

I got my DH watching because of the costumes I don't see anyone I'm just thrilled over seeing this time around. I'll probably still watch unless someone really annoys me.

If I was to become interested, I would be pulling for one of the "oldsters". I'm not a Osmond fan, but I thought it was great when he won it a few years ago since he and I are about the same age. Of course all my good dance moves were used up a long, long, long time ago.

Yeah, pull for the oldsters. I like some of them, but some are just too old to be there.

I don't watch this show but just for fun when the list comes out I usually pick a couple to root for. None of my picks has ever won. LOL And as usual I don't know half these people so I guess I will have to date myself and root for Suzanne Somers and Patti LaBelle.

Just for you enjoyment I give you this from the winner of Strictly Come Dancing last season. With Pasha! (Originally from So You think you can Dance)' This couple scored a perfect 120 points (3x40) in the finale.

I'm looking forward to the upcoming season.
I certainly wouldn't rule out Suzanne Sommers based on age - she has professional dancing experience - dating back to before she was even on Three's Company. SHe could turn out to be the sleeper in this race.
Also, Patty LaBelle is a possible contender - as are Rumer Willis and Robert Herjavec (Shark Tank).
I think that the Iraq war vet with the prosthetic leg (Noah Galloway) shouldn't be ruled out either.
Remember Amy Purdy? She was the Paralympic snow-boarder (bronze medalist) who has 2 prosthetic legs - she made it near to the finals in 2014.
It will be a hoot and interesting to watch Redfoo - he could provide some comic relief.
But again, he might surprise us.

There is a lot of rehearsal footage up on YouTube. Nastia looks good, as does the last star added Riker Lynch
Keo, the pro, looks hot!

This looks like a fun cast. I just finished up the Bachelor so it will be fun to watch Chris dance though he doesn't look all that coordinated. And, Suzanne Summers and Robert from Shark Tank. Although, I really would have preferred Mr. Wonderful.

I can't wait to see Robert! I just adore watching him the Tank. He seems to be such a gentleman. I sure hope he does well.

The premier is tonight (2 hrs) on ABC starting @ 9 pm local time.
I have a feeling that Chris Whatshisname from Bachelor will come out stomping with 2 left feet - much like Kate Gosselin did a few seasons ago - or Chloris Leachman - he doesn't strike me as graceful or light on his feet as a dancer. Time will tell, I suppose.

So, is anyone still watching? I was wondering why there was no DWTS thread and there is, it just died.

I watch it faithfully, Chocolate Lover. I guess we are in the minority.

I guess so. I watch every week too but never seem to recall we have a thread. Kind of sad huh?

So who is your favorite? I want Robert to win, but he won't. Next...I'm rooting for Rumer. People were really mean to her when she was younger! Hope she wins, lords it over them and then slaps the shit out of them.

I like Rumer a lot. I'd rather not see the gymnast win yet again, but she probably will. Or Noah, that would be awesome. I can't wait to see Chris go home though. He doesn't appeal to me at all. I like Riker's Captain Jack dance this week. I wonder if busymom watches it?

I don't care much for the gymnast. I think it's her personality I don't care for. She seems kind of pissy all the time. Noah...of course. You are right. Chris needs to go home. Admittedly, love to see Patti out there. She's certainly not the best dancer, but the lady still rocks!

I'm ready for Willow to go home, too. She's a good dancer, but I've had my fill of the "only 14" stuff.

Willow doesn't bother me so much, but I was sure glad to see Suzanne go the other night. I don't get doing all sorts of enhancing and surgery and letting the neck go, it hurt my eyes to look at her. Just grow old gracefully, instead of looking like some science experiment.

I agree about Susanne and the surgery. Her face in close-ups was a mess, to put it mildly.
For someone who preaches the clean eating and organic lifestyle, she sure took extreme measures in trying to preserve her "Three's Company" cuteness.
Her use of "bioidential hormones" was risky to say the least. It wasn't until after taking them and touting their benefits, she discovered how harmful they are.
Her husband Alan Hamel has aged handsomely - and naturally. He still looks great.
I'm surprised the "Bachelor" is still alive in the competition too. He's kind of clumsy in his footwork and not all that smooth or graceful.
I'm still rooting for Robert Herjavec from "Shark Tank". He's really improved and is getting the routines down pat.

I don't watch the show, I did happen to see a bit of it and when I realized I was looking at susanne summers, I was a bit shocked. She looks so plastic....but good for her. This show seems to bring out a lot of hasbeens or wannabees.

Rumer looked surprisingly beautiful in the blue makeup. It seemed to even out the shape of her face and shorten the lower half of it. I think she will be one of those women that will grow into her beauty when she's a bit older.
