A+++++, Try this again. For one I think land has been a better investment then paper most of the time. The best use of land is 100% of the future value. Like adding better vines to old vineyards we lose to gain. In the 1880 French wine industry was almost destroyed until T.V. Munson exported wood for LeNoir to France. Today the only American Hybrid used in the great growth of Bordeaux is Le Noir (Clarence is 100%). Wine that has 15% ethanol is also stable for years or more. As far as Paper is concern : the T-Bond market is the most liquid of any market. It is more liquid then options, stock , ETF or commodities. KA$H IS KING. Yes: but you may use T-bonds at 90% to borrow $$$$$. All assets may be valued on Discounted Cash Flow. Just a thought, BiMetalAuPt , I hear ya. Without KASH and a plan the land is nice to look at. Wine, as with anything, takes time to grow and it takes guts to wait for your vision to start playing out. But when you know you got something you stick with it, because eventually the curve catches up and you have got the right mix of assets at the right time. Kinda like how we have been talking about things, and have asked ourselves why we kept pushing on something that we were told was crazy or out of reach. How is that now?? God bless, PS. Save the wine!

Save the wine! A+++++, THE RANCH HAS SOME 40 YEAR OLD Le Noir vines that produce high sugar grapes we used for Petrus Forta port like wine. We iced it until it was about 20% alcohol with 10% residual sugar. I have added 5% to 181 Merlot to make our Petrus JAL Ranch ESTATE (C). Time and worms will tell about the future of the vineyard. I hope to grow a very small plot of LeNoir for the future of the blend. Like the one vineyard in Paris, Fr we will be using a very tight formation of about 1 ft * 2.5 ft . This will make for 250 sq foot for 100 vines. We may use great soil and a 10 foot riser so the total area for the roots will be 2,500 foot *3.I do hope to start this in 2016. More on this later!! The wine cellar is going to be under or next to this grapes. God bless, BiMetalAuPt

Our family story about Grandmother Lendrum..German Lutheran grand daughter to Fredrick Wassweiler: My little Grandmother Lendrum Investing SystemMy grandmother Lendrum who only had the basic education of the 8th grade used to have an investment system. She saved every dollar she could: her main income was from being the Concert master of the New York Philharmonic and teaching Violin and Viola. When AT&T paid more dividends the interest on her savings : she bought stock (T). If it did not she just saved her dividends until the income on the stock was higher. The family just had a great time with her simple ways of doing this. At the time my grandfather was the executive VP for Chase National Bank. In fact the investment in AT&T did well and always paid a huge dividend. On her death: the family reviewed her record. The conclusion was she had been one of the best investors they had analyzed. S he was in fact a very wealthy lady. The fact was her viola was worth more because it was very rare. I have it today. Just a thought, BiMetalAuPt PS: This story is like BOB with the exception she bought during down markets

Hey, that's precisely how Mrs. A++++ handles cash!!! What a coincidence, eh? The viola+Juilliard, where heavy metal meets the classics.
