www.examiner.com/article/woman-s-bra-holster-s-fatal-shot-woman-adjusting-her-bra-holster-kills-herself A woman making an adjustment to her bra holster accidentally fired what proved to be a fatal shot. The bullet went through her eye and lodged in her head. The New Year’s Day tragedy occurred at a Lake Michigan home earlier this year. The accidental discharge of the handgun killed the licensed and experienced gun owner the following day.
Writes The Associated Press on Feb. 18, via ABC News: “Police say a 55-year-old southwestern Michigan woman who died after accidentally shooting herself in the head in January was adjusting a handgun in her bra holster at the time.
(This is old news, however it seems the media is reporting it now.)

Why was the barrel of the gun pointing upward?
I've never seen "bra holster", but I'd assume the barrel of the weapon would be facing downward, like a standard holster - so the person would remove the weapon by the hand grip.
And the last place I'd carry weapon would be that close to my heart. Stupid is as stupid does.
Having it concealed in your bra also wouldn't be very quick access. Some people just shouldn't own weapons - ever.
And again, your link doesn't work - try this one: www.masslive.com/news/index.ssf/2015/02/woman_who_accidentally_shot_se_1.html

With the design of the holster (the gun {in the holster} hangs from the middle of the bra, below the boobs, with the barrel parallel to the ground, and the grip extended downwards), how the hell did she shoot herself in the EYE?

I saw two different styles of bra holsters. One that clips between the cups and could take out a breast and one that clips on the side of one of the cups.
I agree it seems illogical to have the gun barrel pointing upward.

Oh, I know there are a couple of different styles, but the article suggested that it was the type I described. The article also had this picture:

I'm wondering if it was so uncomfortable that she had it pointed so the barrel was up between the girls and she could grab the hand grip by sticking her hand up her shirt. It looks like it swivels so it can be adjusted. Wonder if her family will sue the holster maker now.

I saw a Youtube video on that holster and it appears proper way to wear it is with the gun basically horizontal.
I personally would not wear a loaded gun pointed at a significant body part. I'd rather figure out how to load it quickly instead of getting a draw in 1.4 secs and risking death and injury. Not sure if there are many situations concealed carry people desperately need to fire in 1.4 secs instead of 2 or 3seconds.

It's designed to be pulled by sticking a hand up the wearer's shirt. Here's a video I found of a lady wearing (and using, on a firing range) one like it (warning: turn down your speakers... there's a LOT of LOUD wind noise):

Well, I guess we should be glad she accidentally shot herself, and not her grandkid or something.
That holster looks very uncomfortable and awkward. If I needed to wear a gun I would stick with the kind that hold the gun along your side, so you can reach across your chest and draw it quickly. Wouldn't want to be fumbling under my shirt.

Pointing sideways?!?! That sounds like a bad idea. So how many women am I walking around all day with a loaded gun pointing at me or other people walking around them? Should be illegal- all holsters need to point towards the ground.

Should be illegal- all holsters need to point towards the ground. Anyone wearing a typical shoulder holster is also pointing the barrel parallel-ish to the ground. Why the worry about where the gun is pointed WHILE HOLSTERED? Guns don't fire themselves. People fire them. A gun in a holster, while it's wearer is walking beside you, is not going to suddenly decide to fire, all by itself.

People fidgeting with them do. People using an improper gun in an improper holster does not help.
So to restate- it is not nec. the gun I am worried about- it is the potential idiots- so I'd prefer when they 'accidently' discharge a round it goes down.
But despite physics it is still spooky having a gun with a chambered round pointing at me no matter what. Would you wear a gun pointing at your balls if the holster was really comfortable and easy to use?

It'd be safer than the old "tuck it in your waistband" (no holster) method.
