Fact is his final term is up in 2016 and he is still a comparatively young man in his prime..What does he do with his time..? Just so much golf , unless your OJ, one can play...laying out on the beach..after a while it gets old..
Just watched a interview on Charlie Rose..{IMHO the best interviewer around..}with a writer who did a book about the Pres and he..relationship..also worked in the white house fior a number of years..Charlie and he got into that question during the interview and consensus is he will do a lot of writing..Actually the writer feels one of the books he writes , a rememberance on his time in the white house, feels he will write the best one of those type of books..
They feel he will be a prolific writer ,..bettering Nixon, even Carter on hi quality books ....

Speeches, golf, and "writing". I don't know if i'd call the writing "prolific", but it will be words on a page that, may or may not, be written by him.

He's not planning on leaving office! Even now they are busy in the Situation Room, plotting the takeover of the government and planning to end our way of life as we know it. They are deep in negotiations with several possible suitors, The Iranian Ayatollah, ISIL, and even Vladimir Putin to garner the best deal for the wholesale delivery of American bases and spheres of influence.

Reverend Jeremiah Wright will become the new Vice President, Bill Ayers will become Attorney General of the United States, and Bernardine Dohrn, Secretary of State. |

If he is true to himself and his upbringing, Comunity outreach programs will be his thing.
If I were him I'd go back to Chicago and try to at least influence some of the youth.
And for for those that still keep on the "speech writen by others" thing: no US president in the modern history wrote his speeches. The last one to do so that I know of was A. Lincoln.
After that the American public became too" politically " correct for the president to afford to write his own speeches.
All the president has to do is read a speach writen by somebody else and try to deliver the intended message through facial expression, gesture, intonation.
Reagan was great at that, so was Clinton and now Obama.
Both Bush's did poorly, acting...not their strong suit I'd say!

I was reading a bit about Presidents. Did you know Cleveland actually answered the phone if one called the White House? So, a question. When a President leaves the White House, does he actually answer his own phone?? Will Obama? Does he get to have his own set of car keys again, or does the Presidency come with a chauffeur for the rest of ones days?

He will have a security detail for the rest of his days. That being said, I don't see a former president driving his bodyguards arround so...
And yeah, I see Cleveland answering the phone but in those days were maybe a few a day where as today that would be a 24/7 job for a bunch of individuals. I imagine they have somewhere in the WH a whole room dedicated for switchboards.

I thought secret service was over after 10 years.
Personally he can do what ever he wishes, as long as I don't have to see him on TV or in the paper.
I'm sure his calendar will be filled with public speaking but he will probably stay away from AZ. We are not on his good list. |

Considering the times we live in it makes sense ..interesting too, as a good thing , how easy it was to pass and by both sides approval..Not that it matters but if Bush was not included I wonder if it would have passed so easily...
