My current AMC Movie Watcher rewards program which is FREE; is changing to a $12 per year cost! yea, blah, yea, what ever they are also enhancing the rewards. But now I have to pay! yea I get a lot for the cost - BUT it was free. I laugh now but it's annoying me cause I like free.

Remember the credit card act in 2009 that was supposed to protect the consumers? Say hello to the unintended consequences. Don't you feel all warm, fuzzy and protected now?

Ah, yes, "enhanced" programs. They borrowed that terminology from the airlines and, as you observed, it usually means they're taking stuff away. You just need to figure out if it's still worth it to you for whatever savings and other perks you get.

Borders has an enhanced rewards program but you have to pay for it. DD used to work there a couple of years ago and they were talking about bankruptcy back then, so I knew it was probably a bad idea. Now I see that they are filing bk, but rest assured they will honor that program. yeah right.
