So, the question of the day in Arkansas is: If a man and woman get a divorce, does that mean they're no longer brother & sister?
And the second question: Did you know the toothbrush was invented in Arkansas? Well, it had to have been, otherwise it would have been called the Teethbrush.
I live here (unfortunately, so I have the right to tell jokes like that). And the final thing you can say about this place
They love to say "thank goodness for Mississippi") they have to say that cuz no one around here can spell a word that long.

I'm trying to figure out how exactly the teacher's wearing underwear is supposed to save six underwater schools. Is that what is causing them to fail? IS that the most pressing concern of the staff and parents of these schools? Won't it be wonderful when the schools become top performers thanks to the state school board taking the time to create mandates about teachers' underwear?

It was just interesting that it happened 18 mos. before the state took over and given how some love to bash public schools I was surprised no one found it earlier.

Who doesn't wear underwear and it seems as I read it..this was not one or even two of the teaching staff having a problem with wearing such but a large problem with many participants...
No professionalism by staff...??

Perhaps they're in the lost and found of the Clinton Library and Massage Parlor.

I can see how teachers not wearing underwear might make it hard for some students to concentrate. It does seem a bit odd and makes one think that something must have been said or done to make somebody feel it is a necessary item to address.

The August 2013 announcement of a new dress code declared that “foundational garments shall be worn and not visible with respect to color, style, and/or fabric.”
T-shirts, patches and other clothing containing slogans for beer, alcohol, drugs, gangs or sex were similarly prohibited. Other verboten garments included cut-off jeans with ragged edges and cut-out dresses.
“Tattoos must be covered if at all possible.” No flip-flops. “No see-through or sheer clothing.” No jogging suits, either (though gym and dance teachers got a pass on that one).
In a letter to the teachers union rank and file, local teachers union president Cathy Koehler explained her fear that “if an employee refuses to go home and change they can be considered insubordinate and risk losing their job based on an opinion.”
From the OP's link.
Holy Cow, that's got to be explained for the teaching staff?!

So that's what those small white clothes are for at Wal-Mart. I learn something new everyday on this forum. With enough knowledge gained I'll be ready to move from Arkansas to one of those big up north cities.

This was right on the heels of requiring footwear in the class room. Next it's going to be shoes on the pregnant housewives. Is there no end to this government intrusion.

I see opportunity here for the LT unemployed creepos: underwear inspector --- he will have to look under skirts, into pants, etc, to make sure the teachers comply with this requirement

(and if everyone is properly "foundationally attired"... the person employed to inspect won't really see anything anyway) ETA: for the record, that was sarcasm.

So they prohibited going "commando". Can they still watch the movie? You know, like for nostalgia and stuff!
