Dezi-is what I bolded and underlined above in your quote correct? I had heard that at least publicly, Japan was refusing to pay a ransom.

That paragraph was all me...I had heard it earlier that the reason ISIL had a $200 million demand for ransom was because Japan was donating that sum for the fight against ISIL... --------------------------------------------------- In demanding the ransom they justified the amount being asked for by the following statement... "You have proudly donated $100 million to kill our women and children, to destroy the homes of the Muslims ... and in an attempt to stop the expansion of the Islamic State, you have also donated another $100 million to train the [apostates]."

The only thing that all governments can do at this point is to ORDER all civilian personnel, journalists included, to vacate the area where ISIL is operating. That is literally impossible but would be the only way that all those that are not military personel could possibly by protected. You will still be left with the locals that are civilians: women, children, elderly and men that are not willingly fighting along side ISIL.
And then send in massive ground troops with aerial and artillery suport and erase everything, level it! No prisoners, no names! Completely rootless but efficient.
That type of action would show that the rest of the world doesn't deal with that kind of faction.
They may claim all they want that they are Muslims. In fact they are the farthest from that and represent in no way the Islam.

Makes me feel sick. These people are madder than a box of frogs If we seriously threaten them they will be as nervous as a cat in a rocking chair factory which would make me as happy as a puppy in a fireplug factory.
