Has anyone done it? Hours / days off / 1, 2, or 3 weeks? Task descriptions?
I'm seriously considering it for 1 of my trips abroad this year but need input first as I know next to nothing (other than 1/2 Thursday & weekends off)

My father did it twice, but decades ago... I could give you contact info in PM or ask him specific questions if you wanted. I know he felt both experiences were worthwhile.

A couple I knew in the late 90's done it for 9 months. When they came home they were beat tired and she said they really worked hard.

My cousin met her husband when both of them were Israel volunteers (they were working on neighboring kibbutzim). They were young and it was very hard work, with no regular days off (they did get days off, just not regularly scheduled) and you had to be available for anything the kibbutz manager needed, from harvesting to tending animals to cleaning bathrooms. The program really looks for younger people, but don't let that stop you. A friend of my mother's went every year for decades, well into her seventies. LOL  I'm over 35 but thanks for asking I'm still considering volunteering at a hospital or base after crazy season |
