um, no. the first time happened in 2009. and their survey doesn't cover the last 2 years. there is no evidence that this is still the case.

this is not a stunning report, this is a bullshit report. there were a record number of businesses started in 2013.

Over the last four years I have closed 31 stores and opened 2 for my customers.

Over the last four years I have closed 31 stores and opened 2 for my customers. that's a shame, but it doesn't actually mean anything, in the greater scheme of things, oc. the OP is bullshit. let's see if anyone other than me can figure out why.

That sounds like a challenge, but if you think I'm actually going to delve into a Paul thread (and a Breitbart citing at that) merely for the sake of a challenge you are out of your mind!

i can give you a good example of why it is stupid.
the number of dead people is growing at an ever decreasing rate, yet the number of living is growing at an ever decreasing rate.
therefore, eventually, there will be no living people.
that is PRECISELY the kind of logic used in the OP.

Stunning! Anyone want to tell Paul that Breitbart is dead?
BTW how about a report from a man that directly threatened his employees with firings if they voted for Obama that had his business resume to the point everyone got raises?
That's right, once broke this man thanks to Obama has finished building his decadent expression of his shallowness as a human being- can't remember the name but it was one of the largest mansions in Florida- I think the largest.
Maybe PBP knows Might be his neighbor.

For the last 30-40 years the American society was stuck to the concept of "faster and cheaper" it just hapened to coincide with the baby boomer work time span and so busineses poped all over just because the market was demanding more of the same as long as prices were lower. After the market fall people started looking more at quality over quantity and prices while still an issue became more flexible. Now baby boomers retire and granted they have built a business but some of them don't have the best reputation so who'd be willing to sink money in that? Just to give you an example: 2002 there were 4 businesses listed in the phone book in my area for my field; in 2007- there were at least 15; now there are 3 again.

In 2008 unemployment was higher. You can't find a job, you work for yourself. Get sick of the bullshit of running your own business, take a job working for The Man when one is available.
Not everyone wants to be self employed

Also, more and more people understand that they are not cut out to run a business. If you can make more money or have a more comfortable life working for someone else, why bother being self employed? Just so you have to deal with the stress? That doesn't sound like an incentive to me!

Not everyone wants to be self employed this might also explain SOME of the WFP decline that has happened since the dot-com bubble burst.
